RE: Setting Boundaries: The Importance of Personal Space and Clear Communication

in Hive Learnerslast month

I can totally relate with this. It’s sad how some of us make decisions without really caring about the next person, I mean, I’m guilty of it too but some people too do.

When I got admission earlier this year, a friend of mine already contacted me that she will be needing a roommate and I agreed to stay with her, little did I know she was living with her sister. She later told me at a point where I had no choice but still stay with her.

Few weeks to when I had to resume, she messaged me and told me someone will be staying with us for some weeks or at most a month and I was totally cool with that because it was time bound.

Can you believe this girl is still in my place as I write this? She stayed for the first 3 months and went back home and then she came back but this time with a friend! And she stayed with her friend for 2 months and she is still here till hopefully before this month end.

The painful thing is she doesn’t communicate when she will leave or even tell me anything. And I keep trying to understand her and I have just made up my mind to let her stay like it was her place because I messed up from the beginning.

Yours is just a week, hehe. Mine is just approximately 6 months. I’m sure someone will have more but until then, I deserve an award 😂😂😂
