We all know dogs are considered one of the best human-friendly animals, and we have seen many events around us when dogs did their level best to keep their owner safe from any harm coming to them.
One such event happened in my life and I am going to tell you about it today, but to tell about it, I need to go back in history. Here I am talking about going back 15 years when we used to live in the village, we had multiple shops and our house was right behind these shops. One day a dog came to our shop and started walking here and there around our shops. Maybe she was hungry. She was a female dog.
My father noticed the behaviour and offered her milk in the small container. She refused to take it. There was something in her eyes. She wanted to tell us something. She wanted to take us somewhere, My father followed her lead and she took him to a place, where there were 4-5 baby dogs. They were newborn Babies.
She wanted us to take care of her babies. My father took them to our shops and we made a house for them in the place in front of our shop. It was a sheltered place. After this event, they started to live with us. It became our routine to feed the dog so that, she could feed her kids.
It went on for a year, Some puppies died and some moved to a new place. But the mother dog didn't leave our place, She kept on living with us. We thought that she would leave after her kids left the place, but she didn't.
One day we were sleeping at night & theft came into our home, I still don't know what they did, but we kept on sleeping. they dug a hole in the roof of one of our shops and they looted the money kept in the drawer, It was not a big amount of money, the sad thing was they lit up the whole shop with fire.
we woke up after 1 hour of this event and there was this mother dog who was continuously barking to wake up us. we came out and it was a horrible scene, the moment we came out, that dog stopped barking and came to us, there were tears in her eyes and we could easily that, she had been barking( trying to wake us up ) for the past 1 or two hours.
It was an unforgettable night for us. but one thing I learned is that a Small Act of kindness can make a huge difference!, there was a bond between that dog and us, that may be the world won't understand, but we understand it from the tears in her eyes.
We were hurt due to this event, and she along with us felt the pain and wanted all this to stop, but it was not in her hands.
Humans ( theft) became the cause of our sorrow, but the animal ( dog ) tried her level best to be with us in our bad times.

Your family did great taking in the dog and her babies. Sorry to hear about the thieves but it's a relief none of you were hurt.
yes, Thank To God, no one of us got hurt. we suffer a financial loss.
Actually being kind is very important and without being kind it will make us soulless.

Not everyone would have understand the message the dog was trying to pass when she visited the first time but it's lovely how your dad did and showed kindness to the dog. It's sad something tragic happened but the dog act of kindness in her best effort marvels me and make me wish we can learn to love unconditionally like a dog.
yes, it not easy to understand the animals. but when you have built a relationship with them. it is easy.
