Violence: the mind imitate what it is fed.

The mind can only produce what it has been fed. Even the most disciplined person can go astray if they continuously expose their mind to things that offer no benefit.

One of the things I strongly against is exposing kids to any form of violence, a child's mind is a Tabula rasa a Latin phrase that means “Blank slate". Whatever you feed their young mind is what they will absorb and display, there's no argument about this.

A typical example; my little nephew was unintentionally exposed to Nigerian movies. The next day, he started slapping everyone and telling them to shut up, something he has never done before. The worst part? Helping him stop that behavior was incredibly difficult for his parents. The mind is fascinating; when it comes to learning something beneficial, it often takes time and effort. But the moment you pick a bad habit, letting it go became a real challenge.

Children are the next generation, so how you train or shape their minds is crucial. If they are exposed to violent content at an early age, they will inevitably begin to mimic it and carry those behaviors into adulthood.

How do we solve this challenge

I can use myself as a case study. I'm not really into content violence, but whenever I watch a movie or play a game that contains violence, I enjoy that moment while gaming. But, when I'm done, I channel or shift my focus to something productive, or I just watch something with no violence in it.

Some people have grown up in a violent environment, regularly watching movies and consuming content that involves violence, and don't be shocked that over time, this exposure can be prone to self-destruction and aggressive behavior towards other people. When it reaches this stage, therapy is highly recommended.

Violence can never completely disappear, but it can be controlled. Everybody has different experiences with violence, but the real question here is; how do they handle it? Do they go about causing chaos over minor misunderstandings or do they approach things maturely and strive for peace?*

This is where self-control comes in, when you don't allow your chaotic thoughts to take the best of you. Like it or not, humans have a natural tendency to be violence. That's why we see so many crimes and overcrowded prisons, and some individuals in psychiatric wards.

We can educate people on the broader concept of violence, helping them understand why it only leads to chaos and destruction. Expanding their horizon on the importance of peace, harmony, compassion, tolerance and diplomacy.

Another thing I strongly recommend is to be vigilant when it comes to children. As a parent at home, teachers in school, it's crucial to monitor what they watch, the games they play, even news they are exposed to. You'd be surprised how certain content can traumatize them. These are children who would grow up to become leaders, bankers, pastors and more, so shaping their minds into the positive direction would help them grow better.

And another point to add—if you're someone who doesn't react well to violence. It is best to avoid content with violence, fights, and an environment where violence occurs.

Lastly, developing a strong mind to recognize that some of these movies are scripted, games are just meant to be entertainment and relaxation. Not to be acted upon. Cultivate self-control so that when you find yourself in violent situations, you can maintain composure and make rational decisions.

We just have to accept the fact that violence can never completely disappear but can be reduced to the bear minimum..
