After reading your post, I am taken back to February last year when we had our presidential election here in Nigeria. Exactly what you narrated was what I experienced. The only difference is the the country you mentioned in your post.
I don't want to sound too spiritual, but I know that God's place for us remains the best. He sees all that we go through everyday, so he knows best.
No matter who rules a lqnd, the lard still has the final say.

This narrative is true of all countries that are still developing...Pakistan and Nigeria stand in the same place, the parties with more power win by majority whether the people vote for them or not.
More power means more chances to win, lol.
