It's hard but I choose to minimalize my own expenses because I wanted financial freedom and I also looked into financial education because of it. I know what I am giving up and I am willing to do so. Everyone makes their own choices and it depends on their own goals.

You're right, sometimes it can be about what you're willing to give up in order to achieve another thing in general. Goal can differ, rightly so too.
