So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week, which is “HEALTHY COMPETITION”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “SCIENTIFIC LEAPS”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about the scientific advancements that they don’t agree with. With the way technology and science have evolved over the years, it’s made life better, but it has also come with some major downsides. And as a result, life has not been so ideal for many.

We got to see the different areas where science has messed up. It could be from its abuse by humans, or when it’s taken too far. Such things come with consequences, and most of the time, humans are not ready for them. This can lead to sometimes permanent changes that could have been avoided. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w170e3 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.

Featured Contents

PROGRESS AT THE EXPENSE OF SUFFERING by @ladyaryastark

This author told us that one of the major advances of science she didn’t agree with was the use of animals for scientific research. These are procedures that put the animals through great stress and pain, something that none of them deserved. However, humanity seems to have top billing, and sadly, the rights and feelings of the animals are not always considered.

NOT ALL INNOVATION IS PROGRESS by @burlarj

For this author, he told us that the invention of nuclear weapons was one of the worst things to happen to humanity, due to the sheer destruction it can bring to a place. Sadly, every nation in the world seems to be focused on getting the most advanced weapons, spending billions on them, and this is also the reason conflicts never seem to end among nations.

MORE LOVE, MORE MONEY, MORE SCIENCE @terganftp

For this author, he told us that while the advancement of science is great, and it’s doing a lot of good for the people, he didn’t think we were ready to actually handle it. Things are changing at such a pace that not everyone is equipped for it, and as science gets more advanced, its effects on humanity will be more profound. Both the good and bad sides.

All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.

But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:

Honorable Mention

THE BAD SIDE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IS ALWAYS EVOLVING. THERE IS ALWAYS A COST TO IT by @shiftrox

THE INVENTIONS THREATENING HUMANITY by @intishar

NOT EVERY SCIENTIFIC LEAP IS WORTH IT by @nkemakonam89

These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.

AND NOW, WE MOVE ON TO THE NEW TOPIC!

HEALTHY COMPETITION

“Is there a way for competition to be healthy? Competition can always be a sign of growth, and if handled well, it can motivate people to achieve whatever they put their minds to. However, how do you know when it becomes unhealthy and toxic? How do you keep the balance?”
