So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on our second topic for this week which is “A CHANGED CHILD.”

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last one which was “FAMILY TIME, NO PHONES.” This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about the measures they took to make sure that the use of phones was minimal during family events.

We got to see the different measures taken, and we also saw those that didn't have trouble with the idea. In the end, it's everyone sticking up for what they believe in. It was an enlightening topic indeed.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w113e1 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. This author told us about how he was working towards making sure that the smartphone didn't reduce the bond he shared with his family. By ingraining the importance of family time in his daughter right from a young age, and limiting the use of phones around her, family time will surely come to mean a lot when it comes to he and his family.

For this author, she reminded us of the value of being around people and also also being mentally present. It's easy to get carried away with whatever we've got on our phones, and it takes a conscious effort to stay in the moment and actually be a part of it.

This author shared with us how he was working to make sure that phones didn't take up too much time. From reducing his daughter's phone time to regulating how it'd be used. And then, as adults, how kids see us act is what they'd emulate.
