So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the second topic for this week which is “CYBER SECURITY”

Now that the backlog of winners are cleared, let us take a look at the winners of the last topics which was “247 NEWS”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on how information was being dispensed to the masses in their respective countries. We got to know if it was okay for some kind of news to be withheld from the people, or if everything could be delivered regardless of the consequences.

We got to see the differing opinions on this subject. While some people believed that the masses deserved to know everything that was going on, others argued that revealing too much to the public can sabotage sensitive actions that are being worked upon by the government. I guess there can't be a clear answer to this as everyone will keep having different answers.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w124e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors will be listed below.

This author told us about how not being careful with the kind of media put out there could be dangerous, citing examples where such a thing cost the life of some soldiers. Sometimes, withholding certain information or tweaking it a bit is for the benefit of the people so that everyone will remain happy and safe.

THE TRUTH UNRAVELED by @amberkashif

For this author, she told us about how information was manipulated by those in power to make even the corrupt leaders look like saints when things were still going wrong all around them. She believes that knowing the truth is vital because people can prepare towards it. It's best for the public to know, regardless of how bad it could make things.

GOVERNMENTS SHOULD BE TRANSPARENT IN ALL DECISIONS @gwajnberg

For this author, transparency is key when dealing in all this! The people have the right to know what's going on in their country and the government owes it to them to always be forthcoming with it. However, there are moments where it would be best if the government keep certain information to themselves so they can avoid a total shutdown of the system.
