So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on our third topic for this week which is “THE LAST CONTEST”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last one which was “NO SOCIAL MEDIA”. This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling about their thoughts social media and how the world would be like without it. It has become a vital part of our lives today and living without it would put a massive hitch in our day-to-day lives.

We got to see just how heavily dependent many of us have come to be on social media, it’s a place of comfort and business for many people. And while the effects are negative for some, there are many more who only have positive things to say about it. Social media is important indeed! It was an enlightening topic.

This author shared with us the beauty of having social media in our lives and also the benefits of not having it. But then, both also have their downsides. So, it all comes down to balancing. If you can balance your use and make sure you don’t go overboard in any way, then you’ll find yourself able to enjoy social media without the negativity.

UNPLUGGING IN A PLUGGED WORLD: A JOURNEY TO DIGITAL MINIMALISM by @bhattg

This author told us about how social media is helpful not just to him, but to everyone who makes use of it. However, he doesn’t use every platform there is and he is picky about where he spends his time. This is very important because if we fail to exercise control over our social media life, it will only end up controlling us.

This author told us about how social media is a major upgrade to advertising and the ease of doing business. Life without social media would be quite monotonous and boring, because it would take so much longer and would require more effort to do things that can easily be done with a few taps on our phones.
