A review of last month

in Hive Learners19 days ago

March is one of those months I will categorize as not too good and also not too bad, it's just an "ok" month. I usually have the same boring daily routine and that was mostly the same for March aside from the last few days leading to the end of the month. One sad thing that happened at the beginning of the month was my phone going bad on a Sunday morning. I just woke up early that morning to prepare for church as usual and I wanted to use my phone's flashlight but the screen wasn't turning on.

I thought maybe I turned it off before I slept the previous night but after I held down the power button to see if it would turn on, I only got back vibrations and the screen was still blank, that was when I knew something was wrong. It was definitely strange that a phone I used during the night just died untimely before I woke up. Anyway, I quickly went out to fix it the next day and that was when I decided I would start saving money to buy a new phone sometime this year, my current phone is already around 3 years old and some of its features are degrading.

One monumental milestone for me last month was completing my final clearance at the university. I started the process in January but I have been too lazy to complete it. One of my friends who we started the clearance together motivated me to get off my lazy ass and go complete the clearance. We went to the university that day and after moving from one office to another, we finally got to the last stage of the clearance and were told to come back in two weeks to collect our statement of result.

That picture was taken when I went back after 2 weeks, I had to take a couple of pictures because I didn't know when next I would be coming to the university again (it will probably be when I return to take my certificate). I collected my statement of result that day (on good Thursday) and proceeded with the manual registration of NYSC. Looking at the statement of result, I just thought to myself "Wow, so it's finally over. So, what's next?" I actually already knew what was next and had a couple of goals lined up which I'm slowly working to achieve.

The concluding part of the month was the Easter celebration and initially, I thought that day would be like every other regular Sunday because even though it's a day of celebration for Christians, I don't see it the same way I see Christmas and New Year celebrations. I went to church that morning and when I returned, the rest of the day proceeded as usual until it was afternoon. After eating a delicious meal of jollof rice, I grabbed a cold drink from the fridge and watched a movie on my phone. An hour later, my mom yelled my name from the sitting room and asked me to bring 2 glass cups and the bottle of wine in the fridge.

It was an alcoholic wine but that didn't stop my mom from gulping it down like it's water. She soon regretted her actions after the alcohol got to her after a few minutes and she fell asleep 😅 I just took the remaining bottle of wine to my room and finished the whole thing. A few hours later, my sisters came back from their outing and gave me a big cup of fruit parfait. It has been a long time since I have had that (I think over 3 years now) and I totally enjoyed it. In the evening, my dad also brought out a bottle of wine and of course I took a glass of it 😁 the Easter turned out to be even more interesting than the previous Christmas and New Year celebrations.

That was pretty much it. Every other thing that happened last month was pretty much the boring mundane things I do every day (house chores, coding, and so on). The major highlight for me is the Easter celebration as that's the one thing I truly enjoyed (Clearance is stressful as hell and my phone going bad isn't a remarkable experience as well). But all the same, March was an okay month and at the very least I would say it's better than this month but since we are just starting, let's see what the rest of this month has to offer before I make any judgements.

It seems the month of March was fun and also of progress for you. Mine was of mixed feelings, I finished my exams in mid-march. And I started looking for Industrial training placement which I am still searching for currently.

Thank God that my department usually handles IT placement for all students, I can't imagine the stress of having to look for a good place to do it. You should just put more effort into looking for a good placement, considering time is running out. Thanks for stopping by bro

The issues with clearance... Even me here is yet to complete mine, although not out of laziness but due to busyness. But at least now you are done, NYSC on the way

I just had to complete the clearance because I know the longer I leave it, the harder it will be to get back to it. As for NYSC, that one will be after I have saved enough money for it 😅 thanks for stopping by bro

So I'm not alone 😂

Your phone tried with 3 years and the incident that happened with it is a sign that you need to get another one soon before this stops completely.
Clearance ehn..isn't something so easy. Going up and down, getting your documents signed etc, so stressful job but in the end, we heave a sigh of relief and free from the fall corners of the university. When are you going for service now?

Service is till further notice o, maybe next year 😅 I need to be financially ready to survive that stress, considering how crazy the economy is right now. Thanks for stopping by Princess

Hahaha. You should be prepared truly. Thank God I was prepared then too and my school delaying our results for over a year was for a reason for me to save more and get fully prepared for it. All the best.
