It's all about the babies

in Hive Learnerslast year

Babies, the phase which we all passed through or is there anyone who just dropped from the sky in their adult form? While we all can't remember our time as babies, we have all come across one and even spent time with them, they are such lovely creatures, aren't they? Well, until they start walking and destroying things around the house 😂

I'm the first child of my parents and I was fortunate enough to witness my younger ones in their baby form (although I can't remember much about my immediate younger sister as a baby) and even took care of some of them, which inevitably meant I played a vital role in their "first walking step" success story. I have the choice of talking about my only brother baby days or the last born of the family but I think I will just go with...

My baby sister

She's the last born of the family and I was part of the main people that took care of her. I sometimes feed her (no, I'm not talking about breast milk 😆) and keep an eye on her while my mom was busy with her little store in front of our house. I have always loved babies for as long as I can remember and I'm very good with them too, I know how to keep them comfortable and even burst out a smile or two from them, so my mom usually trusts me in keeping an eye on my siblings.

I always wait for my mom to initiate trying to make my siblings stand on their own before I start doing the same and that's exactly how it was with this my baby sister. These things are usually in stages and my mom usually starts by always making her stand while she's holding her. My mom explained that this will make her quickly get used to her legs and also make her legs stronger (if I remember correctly).

After that, she started trying to make my baby sister stand why using something like a couch to support her. I started doing that too when I noticed and before long, she could stand while holding on to a chair or table. From there, the next training was to make her stand without any support and that took some time but eventually, she was able to stand and we always cheered for her when she do so 😁.

Then came the hard part; trying to make her walk. I didn't even wait for my mom to initiate that process, I took charge by holding her and slowly moving her feet in the usual walking posture: left, right...left, right. I did that so she could get used to that pattern and after a while, she did but she still couldn't walk without me supporting her.

I started using different objects to entice her into walking toward me. I made her stand and then I stay a little distance from her with her favorite toy or something shiny 😆 and then I wave it in front of her so that she will try to move forward and grab it. Of course it didn't work during the first few tries and she fell a couple of times but eventually, she started to get the hang of it, and one day, she finally walked!

She took a few steps and quickly grabbed the toy while I cheered for her happily, which also made her start celebrating as well, but I'm pretty sure we were celebrating for different reasons 🤣 After witnessing it, I quickly ran to my mom in her store and shouted: "mommy she walked!". My mom wasn't exactly surprised because she knows my sister will eventually walk but nonetheless, she was very happy that it finally happened.

Taking the first step was just the beginning, I kept encouraging her to keep practicing and with time, she became quite comfortable with walking on her own. Discovering how to walk was a new phase for her and she made sure to explore very well with her newfound ability. At a point she started breaking out of the house frequently and always camping around the stairs, I guess she has completely explored our apartment and wants to head downstairs 😆

Lol, good big bro, expect more wandering from babies when they start walking, baby proofing the house becomes a necessity, because they are attracted to places that are dangerous for them , what do they know, they are just babies

 last year

Exactly, they are very curious beings who don't yet know what fear is 😆 so it's important to make their environment safe. Thanks for stopping by

Babies are cute and adorable, they ought to be cared for because little things can cause them harm.

 last year

Exactly, they just need to be nurtured gently because of their fragile nature. Thanks for stopping by

Omo no one fell from the sky o, the law of nature demands that we must be given birth to and if so we must pass through those processes too except you are some sort of spirit😁

It's nice being around babies honestly, you really played your role as the big broh of the house, kudus to you.

Thank God you quickly made your point clear, I was already wondering how you were feeding the baby na 🤣🤣.. Daddy o... Your kids will enjoy your sir, you are doing well

It's quite fascinating the kind of training that goes into the nurturing of babies. I had a hands-on experience when my sister gave birth. That was an eye opener for me as mothers really dedicate enormous amount of time to raise their babies. Truly admirable!!

They go through that sought of training because they are still very delicate at that point and needs to be trained gently before they could get a grasp on how things work. Thanks for stopping by

She picked up easily without much stress and this surely reduces stress of carrying and backing... it's so tiring 🙇
