People should be the priority: their mental health and quality life time are important things. The only people who don't care about that are those who already have it.
This sums up your entire post in my opinion, and I completely agree with you on this.
Perhaps if the approach to work was given in a different way, the results would be different. I think it should be measured by results obtained, instead of by time worked, probably then the results would change and the paradigms would be different.
I agree with what you said. If there were at least a fair model where people could go home after meeting their goals, it would be very good. I don't understand why, even after doing what needs to be done, it's still necessary to stick to the schedule.
