MY HOBBIES AND I

A hobby is simply an activity you do when you have spare time. They are usually done at a leisure time usually to pass time, or reduce boredom or simply for fun.

People's hobbies could include reading, writing, singing, blogging, playing games, etc. My hobbies are playing dress up, reading novels, either from wattpad or light reader, listening to music and watching movies.
These hobbies depend on my type of mood or the time of freedom I have.

I noticed my hobby of playing dress up when I was a kid. My favorite fictional character was the hawk in justice league, and I tried so much to look like her each time I was watching the cartoon.

When I was in university and I was so stressed out, dressing up was one thing that came to mind. I'd just make myself up, look for something I rarely wear, and then disturb my roommate to take pictures of me. After that, I'll wash up and sleep. I usually wake up feeling refreshed after that.

My hobby of reading novels started when I was in high school. The first novel I ever read was titled "Not without my daughter" and written by Betty Mahmoody with Willian Hoffer. The novel was so captivating, I never wanted it to finish. I found out it was a true life story and even had a movie. It taught me about life outside my world.

That was the first time I realized there was a feud between Iran, Iraq and the United States of America. It was really educational. As time went on, I read so many novels, and exchanged with my friends and acquaintances.
There was a time I even got punished by my father because of my love for novels(that's a story for another day).

Coming down to music, there's the calmness that comes along with listening to your favourite artist. Music is already a pleasure to the soul, listening to a good sound at your leisure period just calms the nerves. Some people even sleep better, read better or perform better when there is a music playing.

My all time favourite musician is Simi. She is good. I could listen and sing along to her her music without getting bored. At one point, her songs were my roomates and I national anthem in university.
It became more than a hobby to just listen to her, it became a lifestyle. Truly, music is life.

Watching a movie on a novel you've read could be good or less. Good, when it was acted exactly like or better than what your read, bad if some parts were not just up to.
All the same, watching a movie is a pleasure. My dad used to call me television at one point because that was about my only hobby. I used all spare time to watch the television.

I've grown now to see that hobbies keep one alive in a certain way. You don't just exist, but have a fun part of you existing too. It's something we usually look forward to doing given any free time. My hobbies became me and I became I hobbies.
