A Beautiful Day

It's a beautiful day! The sun is out, the weather is pleasant. Flowers are blooming! And daddy ran over a scooter with the car.

I was fuming mad. The scooter was ruined and I'm not in a position to replace it right now. The children did not put them away, but laid them on the ground in front of the car, where I could not see them. Irresponsible, careless, thoughtless... grrrrrr!

I marched into the house with the twisted and wrecked scooter announcing that I had run it over because children did not put them away, but left the scooters in front of the car. I declared that it was irresponsible and that I will not be replacing it.... and I do not regret it.

I did not speak truthfully in that moment.

I did regret running over the scooter and I regret not being in a position to replace it right now.

No Bad Moods Allowed

I was going to the store to return bottles and cans and I had my boy with me. By the time I got to the store, I looked to my son and said "I'm not mad anymore." And I wasn't. I no not allow a bad mood. Within minutes I was smiling again.

I expect my son, if he get mad in a moment, to correct his attitude right away and not remain mad for long. I want to be a good example for him.

Oh No!

We returned our cans and bottles and got a little paper slip to redeem for cash at the checkout. It was about $3.20. Nothing huge, but it's something. We shop around and pick up a few items. When we got to the checkout, the paper slips were missing.

I checked my pockets, I checked my wallet, I checked my back pockets... where did they go???? I completed checkout, then returned into the store and retraced my steps. It must have fallen out of my pocked at some point. I retraced my steps, looking everywhere and nothing, it's like it vanished. I know it's only a few dollars, but it's why I came to the store! In that moment, I was really really frustrated and unhappy with myself for being careless with the contents of my pocket. I was actually sort of mad! Again!

I looked at my son and said "I guess it fell out of my pocket and I can't find it. Maybe someone who needed it more than me picked it up."

Immediately, my mood changed and I accepted that that was a few dollars I won't be putting in my wallet. I smiled and assured my son that it's ok, it's not worth getting upset about. He smiled and we went home. No bad moods! It's a beautiful day, the sun is out, the flowers are blooming. Even if it were cold and raining and awful weather, doesn't matter.

No Bad Moods Allowed!

I returned home and apologized to my children who left the scooter in front of the car admitting that I did not speak truthfully when I said "I do not regret it." Turns out the destroyed scooter was an extra one anyway and all the children still have scooters to enjoy this summer.

I smiled and did not allow myself to have a rotten attitude... and my children did not have rotten attitudes either.

It's a beautiful day, the sun is out, the flowers are blooming.

No Bad Moods Allowed Especially Daddy!

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Bank Bailout Special!

It's happening, folks. The banks are going under! To educate our children about what is going on, there is a "Bank Bailout Book Bonanza" going on with the Tuttle Twins! Use coupon code FORTY for 40% off your purchase! Check out the books here.

"Politicians like problems because they can claim to have solutions... but their solutions often create even more problems."
