We Are Alive! April 24th, 2024 Resurrection Day

Time to get NERDY!

Our family recons TODAY as the Resurrection Day of our Master Yeshua, what most of Christianity calls "Easter Sunday". But we don't call it "Easter" and we don't observe it on Sunday. What gives?

We account His death on the tree as on the 14th day (Passover), His time in the tomb as the 15th day (first day of unleavened Sabbath), and his resurrection on the 16th day (morrow after the Sabbath or first of the Sabbaton). This is where the tradition of "Easter Sunday" comes from.

This "Sunday" idea comes from the Old Testament and the Gospels, but has been overlayed on top of a different (solar) calendar that doesn't account for the phases of the moon.

The First Fruits of the Harvest

The harvest and sheaf of first-fruit is connected with the resurrection:

The field is the world, and the good seed represents the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. Matthew 13:37

So when the Law of God speaks of the harvest, it's connected to resurrection at the end of the age. And the harvest is connected with a phrase "first of the Sabbaton" in the Greek Septugint.

Speak to the sons of Israel! And you shall say to them, “When you enter into the land which I give to you and should harvest its harvest, even you shall bring the sheaf first-fruit of your harvest to the priest. And he shall offer the sheaf before the LORD accepted for you. On the morrow, the ‘first of the Sabbaton’ the priest shall waive it.” LXX Leviticus 23:10-11

The phrase 'first of the Sabbaton' is usually translated as "first day of the week", but the word "day" and "week" are not used in the literal Greek. This is important because the Gospel also uses the phrase 'first of the Sabbaton'

While it was still dark, on the ‘first of the Sabbaton’, Miriam from Migdal (whom Yeshua had cast out seven demons) and certain others together with her, came to see the sealed tomb, bringing the aromatics which they had prepared. Mark 16:9

It's All Greek to Me!

Here it is in Leviticus 23:11, regarding the sheaf of the offering:

Here it is when Mary Magdaline rose early in the morning:

The spelling may be slightly different, and one passage adds "the" and one is plural and the other is singular... however the strongs numbers are identical. The person reading the Gospel in Greek (Mark 19:9) is being called in mind to the law concerning the sheaf offering (Leviticus 23:11).

But What About Hebrew?

The Hebrew is more clear in Leviticus: It reads "Morrow after the Sabbath".

This is the day after the Sabbath (the first day of unleavenened) and the first day of a new week. This is what we call "Sunday", except on the lunar/solar calender it always lands on the day after the full moon. This year, resurrection day (morrow of the Sabbath) lands on Wednesday... which is today!

This is why our family observes the Resurrection Day of our Lord on a Wednesday. Bless the Most High!

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Bank Bailout Special!

It's happening, folks. The banks are going under! To educate our children about what is going on, there is a "Bank Bailout Book Bonanza" going on with the Tuttle Twins! Use coupon code FORTY for 40% off your purchase! Check out the books here.

"Politicians like problems because they can claim to have solutions... but their solutions often create even more problems."
