The first walk of 2025 held no surprises. A bright sunshine, a slightly cool breeze, just enough to remind us that we are in the middle of the winter and people enjoying a seaside walk on a holiday.
And myself, taking a stroll with my camera that has been left unused for almost two months. Actually, not even my camera. I took the second camera, the lighter and more flexible one. After all when we reenter a habit after a long time, we have to take it easy :)
If the last sentence sounded like a promise, it is not. A few people have noticed that I don't write very often the last few months and they kindly urged me to do so.
So the "reenter a habit" that I said above is not a promise, not even a goal for the new year, just a wish. I think I'll take it one post at a time and we'll see how it'll go. For now I am only a few minutes away from posting the first post of the year and that's a good start :)
The scenery is pretty much the same with the summer. Only the temperature is more pleasant and the tops of the mountains, far far away, are decorated with snow!
And a jacket is welcome too :)
Other than that, it is only the sun that moves lower above the horizon and it is much softer, that makes the photographs a bit different from the ones in the summer.
I am not much of a celebrations guy, especially when we celebrate the change of a digit in our calendar. But I shouldn't be the grouch party pooper, it is the first day of the year and a wish is in order.
So, starting from the obvious fact that no one will be the same, at the end of the year that just started, let's hope that each one of us, as an individual, as well as mankind itself, will be in a better place at the end of it.
And since it just so happened that the first day of the year is also a Wednesday, this is my contribution to the #wednesdaywalk challenge, hosted by @tattoodjay!

Thank you. It's always a nice visit through your photos... which also remind us of the many rewarding activities we humans do. It doesn't matter how many pages of the calendar we turn, as long as we have strength, health and inspiration.
You have portrayed many of those things here.
The inspiration in this case was you and a few more wonderful people of hive!
Happy new year :)
Beautiful photos. Always a pleasure seeing you in my feed. I'm always confused about how we go crazy about an arbitrary date as well but I wish you guys a wonderful year ahead x
