Checking Out CNY Decorations in the Malls

I have been collecting some photos of Chinese New Year decorations from the various malls I happened to visit for #wednesdaywalk. So yes today I want to share how malls in Malaysia are well decorated for Chinese New Year, in conjunction of the current Chinese New Year festive season. Well we can expect that most of them are in red and maybe has something to do with dragon as rhis ywar is the year of the Dragon, as many Chinese believe.

Just for yoour general information, there are 12 zodiacs in the lunar calendar so after 12 years of rotation, it will rotate back to the same animal year. Many Chinese believe that dragon year is very auspicious, not too sure exactly why but maybe because the dragon is mythical, unlike the other animals on the zodiac calendar that are seen on earth. Just mt wild guess.

There is one mall that I quite like among the few I have visited. I did not visit many this year though because I am too heavy to move about much. I like this decoration in Wangsa Walk Mall the most.

I like these 2 seats here. But I did not take a photo of any of us sitting here. When I was there, I saw someone sitting there sleeping.

At the side, there are some more seats that are decorated and flowers like artificial cherry blossoms.

Another mall I went was Melawati Mall because it is near my house. Honestly I was a bit disappointed with their decorations because it wasn't much decorated. But it was still okay with very minimum decorations I guess because it is situated in a less Chinese area.

On the 1st day of Chinese New Year, we went to this mall situated in the city area, called The Linc. This mall has many many CNY decorations and a lot of dragon- themed decorations. Outside the elevater when we first walked in, we were already greeted by some dragon ornament.

Even their outdoor has red lanterns hanging and lanterns always intrigue my youngest son. He spotted them and pointed them out to me.

Even their supermarket is decorated with lots and lots of red lanterns and ornaments. They gave a lot of CNY vibes.

Many hampers and gifts were wrapped and displayed in red too.

There were corners selling CNY ornaments too like the lion head too.

There was also a corner selling flowers as some would like to buy flowers to decorate their homes too.

It was nice to walk around to check out how the different malls decorate their place for Chinese New Year. There is a particular mall I really want to check out which is the Gardens mall beacuse they decorate it with the nostalgic theme but I haven't been able to make a trip there. There are alspo the bigger malls that always go the extra mile for their decorations like Pavilion but I haven't been able to beat the crowd. Let's see if I manage to see them before the 15th day of the Chinese New Year celebration.

Thanks for 'walking' with me.
