Walking Around Hoi An Ancient Town On Wednesday

Hi everyone in the Wednesday Walking community, my name is Hanna and today I'm excited to be here to share with you my free Wednesday activities. This is my first post on this community, so if there are any mistakes, please forgive me and comment below so I can do better next time, I'm so grateful for that ^^

It's summer right now, the weather in my area is very hot, so I usually only go out in the evening. Today too, after the sun goes down, I leave the house at 5 pm, and I move to Hoi An by motorbike, it took me about 30 minutes. I didn't eat anything for lunch, so I looked for a restaurant to recharge before going to Hoi An old town for a walk. On the way, I saw a restaurant that was reviewed well by many people on Tiktok before, it was The Canh Dong, so I chose this restaurant to have my dinner. Let me tell you more about my trip below!

This is The Canh Dong shop, outside it is decorated with an eye-catching and rustic man of straw. When I entered the shop, the sun was also going down, so the sunset here is very beautiful. Because the restaurant is quite famous here, the customers are very crowded, I waited a long time to order the dishes. There are many dishes here including Quang Nam specialties and new dishes. Since I went with my friend and I haven't eaten before, I ordered quite a lot of dishes, I also wanna try some new dishes that I never eat before.

This is our menu this evening, including grilled duck with "Chao" which is a kind of fermented soy sauce from Vietnam, braised fish, seafood salad, braised eggs, meat salad and mushroom hot pot. Honestly, I really like all these dishes, it suits my taste very well, even though we ordered a lot of dishes, we still ate all of the food. There are some dishes that are cooked in Central style so it's a bit salty, we ordered more rice to eat with it, it's really delicious. We finished our dinner here and continued to travel another 2 kilometers to reach the pedestrian street.

Although the weather is quite hot during the day, it becomes cooler in the evening, so I really like the atmosphere. I walked around the old town and took some pictures, it's been a long time since I came here, but everything is still the same, every street corner is still in the old style, the colorful lanterns are still hanging all over the streets and tourists still come here as crowded as before. When I was a student, my accommodation was quite close to Hoi An so I used to go there every weekend to took a walk and took some pictures to post on my social media. In addition, I often find new cafes in Hoi An and go to there to enjoy coffee here while watching the whole city in the shimmering lights in the evening from above. Today, I come back here and want to take the best pictures of Hoi An to introduce to all of you, I want to show you the beauty of the place recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage so that you guys can refer when traveling in Vietnam or have the opportunity to come to Vietnam. This is one of the most attractive places of Quang Nam experienced by many tourists from all over the world. I know I can't show you all the moments, beautiful places, and daily life of the people in this place, but I hope I can convey the best features of this place. While walking and taking pictures, I came across an outdoor performance by artists, this is called the Art of Bai Choi. This is a folk game of Vietnam, handed down for a long time, this is the first time I have enjoyed listening to the song of the Bai Choi. The performer is very witty and humorous, the words in the song sound very interesting. I found a place to sit and watch a round of play, at the end of each turn, there will be about 2-3 winners, they will receive a gift from the program. I came quite late, so it was the last game, and I didn't get a chance to try it, I will definitely come back here to play this game ^^
