Wednesday Walk in Cohen Park (St. Albans, VT)

in Wednesday Walk2 months ago (edited)

We really needed to get out of the house yesterday so we decided to go to this hidden gem of a park that is about a half-hour from our new place. Cohen park is a small park outside of St. Albans with a beautiful view of Lake Champlain. It also has a basketball court and volleyball net. The beach along Lake Champlain is a cute pebble beach with clear water and tiny waves. Some of the other beaches around Lake Champlain have been closed due to either toxic algae or e. coli, but we felt more comfortable dipping our toes in the water here. According to one source, "because of its location on the open shore of the lake, the water moves quickly enough to prevent algae blooms from lingering."

The weather was beautiful and not too hot yesterday. The park had an abundance of beautiful wildflowers that are typically seen among the North Country; Wild Bergamot, Queen Anne's Lace, and Salsify and more. Check out the photos of our beautiful walk below.
