Wednesday Walk: Salisbury Zoo

in Wednesday Walklast year (edited)

It was a chilly winter day, but it wasn't unbearable. There was hardly any wind, and the sun was out, so we decided to walk around our local zoo. There is a free zoo about thirty minutes from where we live. It's a great place to go with kids because there are playgrounds right next to the zoo. It's a small zoo on twelve acres, but a cute place to go for a walk. We go there especially to see the spider monkeys and bears. We love watching the monkeys run around playfully and jump from tree to tree. Today, they seemed a little tired from the holidays as they sat up in trees munching on lettuce. The zoo also has bison, eagles, wallabies, llamas, flamingoes, an anaconda, a variety of birds, and more.

Yes, it normally get's very windy in winter, here on the eastern shore by the beach - to the point where you don't want to go outside. But today, it was sunny and the air was pretty still, it was just low temps!

Thank you, hope to post more walks in the future : )

Baltimore Zoo is a little bit better, they also Season Passes too.

I honestly don't think I've ever been to Baltimore zoo, even when I lived in Baltimore 😆 When I used to be on the western side of MD, I'd always take the metro to DC to the Smithsonian - that zoo is the best!

I don't disagree. Lol. I'm from Easton. I'm going to school in Harford County currently.

Oh, wow, Easton? We live on the Eastern shore! I went to St. Michaels this past Winter - it's so nice there. I've only been to Harford County a couple times.

It's nice if you don't live there. Talbot County is nice to look at horrible to live in. The rich folks try and keep the place the same and not deal with growth. I may be moving back to the shore after school. I'm not exactly sure yet. I may move to the mountains, all depends who is going to pay me more.
