Tempted to sit on one of these artistic benches?

in Wednesday Walk4 months ago

The Parque Grande de Zaragoza, also known by its official name the Parque José Antonio Labordeta was our walking route for two mornings while we stayed in that city. The second morning I went alone, as my husband and son had different plans, each of them. Perfect, I used that time to go back to the park and hunt something that my husband spotted the previous day.

IMG_20240117_122507.jpg

Just to clarify, I have not gone hunting for pigeons, squirrels, or the people who used the park to run. I didn't want to harm anyone so no special weapons were needed, but it was a hunting time for sure. The statue of Neptune showed me the direction where I should start with my activity.

IMG_20240117_124257.jpg

Go to the right, find the wide path with the trees and benches and start shooting. But no, not that bench! It is just an ordinary one. We need the painted ones!

IMG_20240117_124544.jpg

Without a map or navigation, but just following the suggestion of Neptun I found a very nice part of the park, with a few parallel paths. There was also a little water canal in the middle, probably part of the irrigation system, though I didn't investigate more about that. My goal was to find the benches that my husband saw yesterday, and to my joy, I found a lot more benches than we thought there were.

IMG_20240117_124356.jpg

Let's start with the hunt then. If you want you can join me. There is one bench already, close to this point where we stand now.

IMG_20240117_125206.jpg

Banco de la amistad. (Friendship bench)

IMG_20240117_124332.jpg

Banco del amor. (Love bench)

I found the message of this bench in my native language. There were words in many languages and as we in Hive are from all over the world, I hope you can find your own language here.

Banco del arte. (Art bench)

IMG_20240117_125114.jpg

There were several sections of these painted benches. I noticed that there were older benches and newer ones, and the style was not always the same. The little information board by the benches was not the same either.

IMG_20240117_124755.jpg

So, leaving behind this part of the park we are going to the other side, where I found a few of those without a name.

IMG_20240117_124934.jpg

The name of this one could be easy to guess. It would probably be Respect, though I didn't see any little plaque with the confirmation of it.

A few nice benches are still here to be shown. The one we see above was Banco de Zaragoza renacentista (Renaissance Zaragoza bench).

Banco de Pablo Gargallo. (Pablo Gargallo bench)

IMG_20240117_125624.jpg

mipiano_banners_strip_gimp.png

Just behind the main walking route in the park, there was a little space, a section that looked like a mini park. There I hunted several items for this collection of benches.

Banco del pilar. (Bench of the pillar)

IMG_20240117_125314.jpg

IMG_20240117_125245.jpg

Banco del Ebro. (Ebro bank)

IMG_20240117_125403.jpg

Banco de Goya. (Bench of Goya)

I still have a few photos of benches that I left out as there are too many of them... You would be tempted to sit on each one but that would be a problem then. We are here to walk, as it is time for Wednesday's Walk, but in any case, I hope you liked to see these artistic benches from the Parque Grande in Zaragoza.

Do you have a favourite bench from this post?

The benches are really beautiful
I love the fact that they are also trying to send or spread some particular messages
Nice one!

That's it, each one tells something different 🙂

This is a fascinating place to visit. I thought I could pick up one favorite but I can't! There are so many cool paintings. 👍

True, it is not easy to pick just one, as they were all cool.

Those are benches or artworks? I wouldn't sit on them! 😂

Yeah, imagine sitting on a painting in a museum 😂

Exactly 😂

The beautiful artwork on these benches is fascinating. What's more interesting is that some of the names and the langauge used to label these benches are integrated in our own langauage.

Yes, I think there are words in your language that are coming from Spanish. Glad you liked them 😇

That place is an absolute marvel, first I was going to tell you what a beautiful photograph three is, but when I saw the benches I fell in love with so much art. I love them all, especially the one with the cushions, the woman with the purple hair.... all of them, incredible!!!! Thank you for this tour! 😍

The benches got the absolute spotlight here :D
Though the park was also nice. The woman with the purple hair represented the beach of happiness - alegría 😊

That was one of the ones I liked the most, I've never seen a park like this, beautiful!😍

They're all so beautiful, very difficult to choose. I've been scrolling up and down for a long time and still can't decide between Pablo Serreno and Jota

And there are also those that I didn't include, as too many... It would be even more difficult to choose 😁

Hello friend, what a beautiful experience and each of those places are wonderful and are very well preserved, it is also incredible how they painted each bench and in that way give it a touch, as well as the names they gave it and in that way they can be recognized and highly appreciated. Have you sat on all those benches in a single day?

No, I didn't sit, as I was hunting, I mean walking to see many of them :D

A nice idea to bring messages through the benches, isn't it?

Many of them, even worn out, are still beautiful... what colour does, doesn't it? And there's also the fact of making sense of things. A bench holds many stories.

It can be seen that they were not done all at the same time - from some benches, the colour was already peeling off... On the other side, some benches were giving a new feeling.

A bench holds many stories, true, probably even more than the statues in the parks can hear 😁

My favourites are diversity and happiness.

Very nice ones 😇

¿Habrá alguno para aliviar la migraña? 😞

Migraña? 😥

Oh no...

What a fantastic way to brighten up functional furniture, all I see here is folk having attached little brass plaques with the name of some one who has died.

My husband was the one who spotted these painted pieces of furniture first... but was the one who went back and hunted them down, many of them :)

very nice indeed, brings character to the environment

I've only seen some of the first ones you share here. I had no idea that they had added more and more banks to the collection, how wonderful! I will have to approach a sunny day to appreciate different nuances. 😃

You can see the other, newer ones around and behind the area of the rose garden (la rosaleda). A sunny day would be good as we had everything haha, rain, clouds and sun too 😂

It was a complete package experience. 😁

Todo incluido 😂

Oh. If you know me a bit

The Respect one.

But ghe Zaragona Renaissance one as top of the list. Because I Braves Zaragona. Of course. Headquarters of Unesco as it turns out. Or known for that at least.

How cool 😎

The bench of respect - should exist in every city, as a reminder 😉

Yeah!

And the round table of mediation and conversation!

With just these two pieces or furniture we may well change the world! ;)

Love to you, M ❤️

Now when you mention conversation... There is a bench in my little town on the promenade by the seashore, a bench that is called "Happy to chat bench". If you are lonely and just want to chitchat with someone, you sit there and if a passerby feels the same, he/she can join. :))

That is so lovely.

I was going to do an art thing with a similar concept. Perhaps I will...

No need to reply! You sound busy. Do your thing. We chat when things have cleared.

I am glad to see what your were hunting wasnt animals or people and those benches are awesome, so so cool what a great idea to have people paint them like that

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk

Have a great day

Yes, this hunting time was reserved for these artistic benches 😇

I loved all the benches they are really beautiful, I think my two favorite are el banco de la salud y el de la diversidad. But all I think are great, that's a very good idea 💡
Thanks for sharing señorita Mipiano 🤗

Though it is true, all are nice in their own way 😇
I like La Maja the most, but also diversidad, Ebro, respeto, Jota, amor, pilar -not easy to choose just one, señor Pumástico 😋

Si eso pensé , me los quedo todos 😁

Thank you @ybanezkim26 😊. I am glad these benches made it into the Travel Digest :))

It's like a collection of different kind of benches. They all have a very cute design. Sitting in there while waiting for someone will never be boring. Love that it also gives color to the whole place.

A nice collection spread out throughout the park :)
Someone just had to collect them and bring to this walking post 😇

Nice and successful Thursday. I invite you to a virtual cuban coffee ☕🥰🌹.

The paintings on the banks are beautiful, it was an excellent decoration.

Saluditos 👋

These benches for sure bring a nice detail to this park, which is already a place that many citizens like to visit. :)

Haha, I love them all benches! What a clever way to beautify the park. It adds life and color to the leafless trees probably because of winter. When summer comes all these benches truly compliments nature's beauty.
I love the bench with the heart and the saying with The word I love you in different languages.
The world needs more love!! Thanks for taking us with your tour @mipiano. It just warms the heart.🥰♥️

You are right, they add some colours now when the trees are leafless. I haven't seen it during the summer, but probably it is nice to sit on one of them, in the shade. Greetings and I am glad you also liked the Love Bench 😉

Yes, we all loved to be love!
Greetings to you too Ms. @mipiano.🥰♥️

What a great idea, I love when they do this kind of thing in public places, like in parks in this case. Makes it more attractive to the visitor.

Obviously I wouldn't sit on any of these beautiful benches, it would be disrespectful to the artist and the art itself.

It's impossible to choose a favorite, I love them all 😍 It made me want to go to a place like that 😅

Beautiful Parque Grande in Zaragoza @mipiano nice shots and walk. Have a great thursday 🤗

There were benches with already damaged paint, but I guess it was because of the weather conditions. And that they are not new anymore. Sitting on them, with respect for the painting and message - maybe would make us feel special 😉
But it was cold so I didn't sit on any.

Thank you @dimascastillo90 🤗 for the support and your comment, have a nice Thursday you too!

The benches with this design are very popular with children. This place is very beautiful and very special to relax the mind, so one must visit such a place once or twice a week because If there are many problems going on in tomorrow's life, then a person relaxes a little.
