Walking in the Lane Featuring Medellin Bamboo Forest

in Wednesday Walk9 months ago

Strolling to a wondrous place gives us the power to recharge, diversify and detoxify stresses in our bodies.

Being a busy bee, sometimes my sanity fights my body, believing that the word "tired" is not my thing. However, complaints; of back pains, neck pains, and all sorts of pains come in when I tend to seriously focus on accomplishing my tasks. When I think of one of the things which is helpful for my whole being, I am considering going for a walk with nature. It heals!

Come and join me as we walk together to Medellin Bamboo Forest.

Feelin' Fresh of the Outside View

As long as we arrived at the place, that lake caught my eyes in awe; finally, after a succession of facing my laptop and printer to finish paperwork, I started to feel relieved; but wait there's more.

Another refreshment that could distress me was the green-roofed cafe beside the lake. Isn't it impressive? Is this your first time seeing such a type of cafe? Well, it's my very first time. I like how they design the plants on the roof to give shade and fresh air to consumers; just a look first in the meantime.

The food stalls have a variety of food available from breakfast to dinner. If you visit here, there's no need to worry because they have many to offer. Before I continued to get inside, I paid for the entrance first for only Php 30.00.

Happy to Finally Come In

Bamboo-made doors are widely open upon entering; jars and a surfboard with the heart on the backside give us a glimpse of a beach-themed design. Tall bamboo trees lean on each other perfectly; to form an inverted V or C shape that shades every visitor.

As I went alongside to another spot, on the right side, I saw a nipa hut and a swing welcoming me as if they were talking to relax my mind and soul.

While contemplating and imagining, I heard someone singing on the other side; the police officer tried to entertain us while ensuring our safety. Do you want to share your singing talent? You are free; to grab the mic and choose your favorite song/s.

On the left side, I saw something worth pondering; I am Like a bamboo, resilient. That reminds me to stand still amidst the challenges and hardships I possibly encounter. I always believe that we are all resilient. We just had to trust ourselves that we could.

As I savor the moment with the fresh air and the coldness of the place, it caught my attention the signage posted aesthetically. It reminded me to be humble in whatever possessions I have in life. What we acquire now is not permanent; only borrowed from up above.

If you want to look like you are in Japan, that side here is where you can rent the costume dresses; have for Filipinos, too. Barong Tagalog and Filipiñana.

As I walked farther, I found this old tractor in the middle of the bamboo forest. It is situated there to remind the guests that Medellin has sugarcane farmland in the Northern part of Cebu.

At the endpoint of the whole area, you can enjoy watching Koi fish in the pond. Upon looking at them, I felt relaxed while taking a deep breath. Oh, this place made my day complete.

Self - Realization

I ended my walk with some realizations; that life is like bamboo, full of thorns yet resilient. Thorns symbolize us being bold and better than yesterday.
