My share for #wednesdaywalk, as inspired by @tattoodjay.
Last week's trek along the Great River was a bit sketchy, to say the least. So this week I stopped along Interstate 90 at the nearby Dresbach Lock and Dam to take in some misty sights of the Mississippi River and surrounding bluffs. Oh yeah, I also saw a barge tug boat as well!
The fog and reflections were beautiful. You can see a bit of snow in the north facing slopes of the bluffs, and a bit of ice on the shoreline as well. Yet the real surprise was finding the boat Miss Kathy, in the Lock, ready to venture south within the Mississippi River.

The Upper Mississippi River Lock and Dam System serves as a vital transportation corridor for agricultural goods and other commodities. This series of dams creates a "stairway of water," maintaining pools deep enough for barge traffic to navigate the river. Locks incorporated into the dams allow barges to move between the different water levels created by these structures. The system was primarily constructed to facilitate commercial navigation, easing the challenges of natural water level fluctuations and obstacles that would otherwise make consistent river transportation difficult.
Of course, views of the nearby bluffs never get old either...
And for this special #wednesdaywalk, I ditched the blue Crocs for some more warmer shoes. Hey after last week, you never know when I might need to get moving in a hurry...
