It was a beautiful day to take a walk through the park before the weather took a turn. It is always nice to walk along the water's edge and enjoy being out in nature. The water was a little rough due to the winds picking up but at least the sun was shining to keep us warm.
There used to be a sandy beach here where the rocks are now. We had super high water levels that did a lot of damage to Ontario Lake waters edge. Many homes and land were washed away due to the high water. Since then the town has put in these large boulders to help keep the erosion to a minimum.
This small inlet goes underneath a walk bridge and the photo below shows the small creek that runs into the lake.
The water is fairly clear as you can actually see the bottom of the creek. I would guess it is less than two feet deep in the middle.
Usually, when we come to the park the ducks are busy feeding in the creek, however today there were none to be seen.
The town has done a nice job of making the area a nice place to visit. I often see people coming down to the area just to enjoy their lunch break at one of the picnic tables.
I thought this was clever of someone to salvage the old tree stump and make it into a seat for someone to enjoy.
It is time to take a stroll down to the pier along the edge of the water with Mika. She gets so excited to greet any passerby and of course, she loves smelling everything along the way.
As we started the walk close to the water, the rocks were so slippery that we had to take the upper path. The last thing I wanted to do was take a fall on the rocky edge.
Mika is watching some fishermen casting their poles on the break wall.
You can see here why we took the upper path. The moss is damp all along the sidewalk and on top of the rocks. The grassy area was much easier for us to manage.
This is a photo looking back towards the park halfway down the pier. It was actually cold out there with nothing to block the wind. We made it almost to the end of the pier before turning around. There were two fishermen at the end near the lighthouse and we did not want to disturb them.
Looking back from where we started you can just make out our white car in the distance. It is a nice little #walkabout for a Wednesday outing.
I don't know why we didn't visit the park more often over the summer. It is such a peaceful place to take a break from our daily routine.
Heading back to the car over the footbridge our outing has come to an end. I think we will have to come back a couple more times this fall before the snow flies. We will definitely have to wear heavier jackets next time though. The wind coming across the lake can be quite nippy.
Thank you for joining us on our #wednesdaywalk and thanks to @tattoodjay for this fun community to share our day with.
Until next time, this is Sunscape

😍😍😍😍😍
Such a nice walk by the lake! Very refreshing and energising. The scenery is very soft and lovely for the mind.
Thank you @kaminchan I am very happy you enjoyed the lake views. It was very calming for sure.
you say the weather was a bit rough but it looks so beautiful and calming
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
It was a very calming experience but the wind was sharp. Most of the visits to the lake the water is just like a mirror. ;-)
