Dog walk to the port - When the city was slowly waking up

in Wednesday Walklast year

Within a few minutes from our house I can be at the sea and this is pure joy for a sea lover like me! Early in the morning, the city is quiet and the sea usually calm. Markos and I certainly prefer it this way for our morning walks :)

The sun hasn't shed light to all sides of the castle, but we followed a route where we could fully enjoy the sun. Old railway tracks, a station that stopped working many years ago, but the tracks are still present. Flowers make use of them now and I am sure they are pretty happy that no train is about to pass. Crossing them marks the start of the port and a view to the other side of the sheltered bay. And the best view of the old part of the city!

I am excited that I managed to capture this moment with my camera. This cute little guy became the perfect model without knowing, without even trying :)

As we watched the boat with some tourists departing for a short tour around Bourtzi, the small water castle, I noticed that another boat driver, the one that was next in the line, started pulling his boat to the front with his hands. I know diesel is crazy expensive and the distance was short, but I found it kind of funny and he looked really cool doing this :)

We walked all the way to the end of the port and the lighthouse and I was surprised to notice that I didn't get any photos of it. My guess is that someone got overexcited and ideally should be off leash, but that wasn't the right place and it's not always easy to explain this to my four-legged companion...

People were slowly waking up and the tourist train was about to go to its base and welcome the first passengers. Seems like I started documenting this walk with train tracks and almost finishing with a (kind of) train.

A glance to the streets. Markos was determined not to let me take more photos, he had enough with these meaningless delays and having to stay still without understanding the point of all this. And he was right, after all that was mainly his walk!

The photos are lovely and the place is also too good, I hope you love to go there ..

Thanks so much @chinay04! It is lovely and yes, I love these morning walks :)

It's really nice to live near the sea. :) And gives you the chance to go for a walk and witness this beauty.

Hello lovely lady!

What a beautiful way to start your day. We can't take our 5 dogs for a walk first thing in the morning or they'd chase/eat the squirrels and turkeys that come by to visit, but they get lots of walks through our homestead and have a huge run to play outside in when we can't go for a walk into the pastures or woods due to weather (right now, snow) or whatnot. We are very blessed that way. 😊

Marko would fit right in with our dogs here, they're all about the same size and energy I'm betting. If you're ever in Atlantic Canada you should swing on by so our dogs can have an adventure together. 😊

God bless you and your wonderful family. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊

Oh what a beautiful morning walk. So glad you are finding new happy routines!

Hi @traisto, I'm almost little envious that you can take a walk like this every morning in such a beautiful place😉 Congrats for the post and the awesome photos. You know what, it's good to have Markos wait for you while you take photos 😉 See you around!

As always such fantastic photos of such a beautiful area Love them all

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk, Sorry last week was a bit rough for me and I not only did not get out for any walks, but also was not able to visit all the walks from last week, but feeling better this week and visiting posts again which is always fun for me to visit the walks from all around the world, getting a feel for communities where people live and what they see on their daily walks
