Hello Wednesday walkers.
I cannot wait to share with you my weekly story with photographs for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay. After exploring the park with a zoo in my previous post, today I would like to present to you the park with the ponds.
On one of the last sunny days before the expected cold and snowfall, I decided to take my usual weekly walk in one of the parks in the city where I live, famous for its ponds. The weather was beautiful, sunny with temperatures of about 5 degrees Celsius.
This city park is situated in a hilly area above the town and the difference from its lowest to the highest point is a few hundred meters in altitude. Of the three city parks, this one is the most difficult and exhausting to explore, which is why it is most often visited by young people or families with children.
I left the car in the parking lot at the beginning of the park and headed up the stairs.
After each climb of about 50 stairs, you find yourself on a new level with paths, benches, beautiful plants, and ponds.
In about 10 minutes I reach the monument to the famous Bulgarian poet Penyo Penev, after whom the park is named. The sun was low on the horizon, which allowed me to take beautiful pictures.
The vegetation is lovely despite the usual cold weather for the season, with alternating shades of green, yellow and brown. Interestingly, even on this lovely winter day, I don't see many people out walking around here. This is probably due to the fact that it's a weekday after all, and it is still early afternoon.
The water in the lakes is dark and it looks dirty, but I think that is due to the fallen leaves and the lack of underwater life to take care of the natural cleaning of the water.
I pass by a small summer theater that the kids love. During the summer months, there are often children's theater performances here which are attended by whole families.
I continue up the path in search of the abandoned lake, famous for having graffiti painted on its walls.
For some reason unclear to me, there has been no water in the lake for several years, and nameless artists have poured their talents onto its walls.
I continue up the path. Nature becomes more and more beautiful. Thanks to the unusually warm weather for January, the vegetation has persisted and gives a feeling more of spring than winter.
The next ponds on my way are full of water and the shadows of the trees are reflecting spectacularly on their frozen surface.
The sun is starting to set and the temperatures are dropping, reminding me that I haven't brought my jacket and it's time to head to the car.
On the way back I pass beautiful arches overgrown with creepers. The sun is on the horizon, which is a great chance for some last photos before I head home.
The parking lot is almost deserted now. The car is waiting for me downstairs, but I can't miss taking a few more pictures of the sunset over the city.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a few minutes to read my post.
I hope you enjoyed today's photo walk with me and my camera.
Stay safe and never stop exploring the world around you.
Yours,
George
The truest art is what we create from the bottom of our hearts. According to the norms of society, some of us are born with the talent to create art and some of us aren't. I completely disagree with this comprehension.
I believe every human being has her/his own unique way of expression and it is not necessary to be born with the talent of a poet, writer, painter, or composer. Each of us could express hers/his view of the world in words and pictures. And if you can't paint, dance, or sing, just describe your feelings, memories, and dreams in your own words and color them with pictures you have taken yourself.
This is the unique advantage of Hive over all social platforms.
Here, you don't have to pose as who society expects you to be. On Hive you can be yourself with all your disadvantages and no one will judge you for not following the "standard". Because on Hive there are as many "standards" as the number of the members of this blockchain society.

Wow I am just so enchanted with your glorious walk and I thank you so much for taking me there!
So tell me, On any of your voyages, have you ever met an Irish magician as an onboard entertainer?
Thank you very much for the positive feedback :) I met a lot of Irish people but don't remember meeting an Irish magician. Do you mean an artist who is entertaining the guests on board? :)
Yes that's right. A friend of mine, who is Irish and works onboard numerous cruise ships over the world as a magician- sometimes for days at a time, sometime for weeks and even months at a time...
Hi Vedarg :) I like very much your pics. I also like photography but I am not very good. Do you have any recommendation?
Hi Tania :) Thank you so much. I am also new in the photography and am still learning. The pictures from my posts at the beginning I did with my self phone and then I borrowed my brother's camera Nikon D7100 with lense 18-35 mm. I am reading manuals and watching YouTube videos about photography and photo editing software - Lightroom. You are also doing a great job :)
There is nothing better then nature walks nice photos @vedarg 👍
Thank you, buddy. Your words are a great motivation for me:)
Your welcome @vedarg always nice to see a great post 👍
