The first 55 flags were installed by the relatives of the fallen defenders of Mariupol. Each inscription has a callsign and date of death. Other flags were added later. In the penultimate photo, flags are very similar to the modern chevron of the Azov Regiment, which has been in use since 2015. Eagle, and colors. They were men of steel...
My heart is aching when I think about their heroic defense, hearts of lions, fearless and strong, they stood for so long! And then they got the order to surrender, "to save their lives". In return, they received tortures and humiliation in captivity, in prison in occupied Olenivka, and then ... a treacherous death few days ago. They were promised to be released. UN, Red Cross... they are powerless and useless 💔😣☹
