Símbolo de devoción Guaiquerí [Esp/Eng]

Hola, ¿qué tal, amigos? ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Yo, la verdad, me siento un poco cansada, pero lo admito que ha sido solo mi culpa, jajajajja. Me he acostado todos estos días muy tarde, y el día de ayer tuve la oportunidad de compartir la devoción de la virgensita Guaiquerí.

La verdad yo siempre he tenido la curiosidad de saber el porqué los guaiqueríes no celebran el día de la virgen en su día correspondiente el cual es el 8 de septiembre, sino que ellos lo celebran son los 9 de septiembre y hoy comencé a leer el porqué, realmente yo estaba ajena a esa historia hasta que conocí a mi novio y notaba que él y su familia lo celebran son cada 9 de septiembre así que decidí investigar.

En esta oportunidad no pude acompañarlos, pero la virgensita a las 5 de la mañana el año pasado lo viví, una camioneta con tambores recorre todo el sector del poblado, esto es una señal para que los pobladeños se levanten acompañar a su madre a visitar a la virgen del valle en procesión, la verdad el año pasado les puedo decir que eso es muy lindo, delante de la virgen siempre llevan una canoa en un remolque y encima de ella se disfraza un señor como el indio Guaiquerí, en margarita el señor es popularmente conocido como Agua Santa, a pesar de su ceguera un locutor de radio muy reconocido. Al llegar al valle, las dos vírgenes se encuentran y luego vuelven a bajar al poblado en procesión. Pero las imágenes que les muestro anteriormente corresponden a que en la noche realizan la misa a las 6 de la tarde y una vez terminada se realiza nuevamente una procesión por el pueblo que finaliza al llegar a la iglesia.

La imagen sagrada que hoy se venera llegó desde Cubagua en 1950 por los frailes de Carmelita, según su historia lo relata. En la plaza Ortega aún se encuentra al frente de ella una chimenea de los años de la población guaiquerí, la cual aún es encendida al llegar la virgen al poblado.
