Estuve varios días bajo presión y por consiguiente no tenía tiempo de salir a recrearme, había algo que demandaba toda mi atención y era la salud de mi mamá. Estuvo enferma durante casi tres meses y necesitó de cuidados especiales en casa. Pasamos días internadas y solo salíamos para comprar alimentos, medicinas, o visitar a algún especialista o hacer exámenes. Por fortuna tenía a mi familia que me ayudó muchísimo y todo el proceso fue llevadero. Gracias a Dios ya está mucho mejor.
I was under pressure for several days and therefore didn't have time to go out and enjoy myself. There was something that demanded my full attention, and that was my mother's health. She was ill for almost three months and needed special care at home. We spent days indoors and only went out to buy food, medicine, visit a specialist, or get tests done. Fortunately, my family helped me a lot, and the whole process was bearable. Thank God she is much better now.
Afortunadamente, las cosas volvieron a la normalidad en casa, así que le sugerí a mi hija adolescente que saliéramos el sábado por la noche al cine y a cenar, aprovechando que @carmenmarv2 se quedaría con mi madre acompañándola. Esta salida sería como un respiro después de unos días de preocupación y trabajo.
Invité a mi sobrino a que nos acompañara junto con mi hermana. Primero iríamos al centro comercial donde estaba el cine y luego comeríamos comida callejera. Íbamos a estar en el municipio Maneiro de la isla de Margarita donde se concentra ahora la vida nocturna.
Thankfully, things returned to normal at home, so I suggested to my teenage daughter that we go out last Saturday night to the movies and dinner, taking advantage of the fact that Carmenmarv would be staying with my mom. This outing would be like a breather after a few days of worry and effort.
I invited my nephew to join us along with my sister. We would go to the mall first and then eat street food. We were going to be in the Maneiro municipality on Margarita Island, where nightlife is now concentrated.
Quedamos gratamente sorprendidos de lo animada que estaba la noche. Ya muchas tiendas estaban decoradas para navidad y en el centro comercial Parque Costa Azul había un grupo de música interpretando gaitas tradicionales de la época decembrina.
Había mucha gente de paseo, sin embargo, el cine estaba despejado. Esperando a mi sobrino se nos hizo tarde. Finalmente sólo llegó mi hermana María Alejandra y con ella decidimos irnos a otro centro comercial que estaba inaugurando sus luces: City Place.
We were pleasantly surprised by how lively the night was that day. Many stores were already decorated for Christmas, and at the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, there was a band playing traditional Christmas bagpipes.
There were lots of people out and about. However, the movie theater was empty. Waiting for my nephew made us late. In the end, only my sister María Alejandra showed up, and we decided to go to another shopping center that was inaugurating its lights: City Place.
Pasamos una noche divertida y plácida. Disfrutamos unos helados y fuimos a conocer un centro de juegos que justo estaba abriendo sus puertas en el centro comercial. Caminamos y contemplamos los adornos navideños. Luego en el carro recorrimos algunas avenidas y apreciamos mucho movimiento nocturno en la zona.
Después de pasar un buen rato nos fuimos a comer perros calientes a un sitio cerca de mi casa de la que desconocíamos su sazón, pero que dio la talla.
We had a fun and peaceful evening. We ate ice cream and went to check out a new game center that had just opened in the mall. We walked around and admired the Christmas decorations. Then we drove around some avenues and enjoyed the lively nightlife in the area.
After having a good time, we went to eat hot dogs at a place near my residence that we didn't know but that was great.
Esa misma noche todas reflexionamos, entendimos que nos hizo mucho bien esa escapada. Nos prometimos repetir la experiencia, salir un rato cada cierto tiempo y recrearnos.
Siempre es bueno parar y tomar aire. Es justo y necesario respirar, despejar la mente y continuar. No debe haber sentimientos de culpa porque se necesita siempre un alto para seguir adelante, siendo responsables, esforzadas y valientes.
That same night, we all reflected on the experience and realized how good the getaway had been for us. We promised ourselves we would repeat the experience. We would get away for a while every so often and enjoy ourselves.
It is always good to stop and take a breath. It is fair and necessary to breathe, clear your mind, and continue. There should be no feelings of guilt because you always need a break to move forward, being responsible, hardworking, and brave.
