Today I want to share this self-portrait with you, and I will inevitably have to talk about myself.

Hoy quiero compartirles este autorretrato, e inevitablemente tendré que hablar de mí misma.

I like to make self-portraits because I already know my own anatomy so well that my margin of error in terms of proportions is almost nil. Sometimes, and I think it happens to many people, I put my own face features in other people portraits. This is because we tend to simplify some things towards what we already know.

Me gusta hacer autorretratos porque ya conozco tan bien mi propia anatomía que mi margen de error en cuanto a las proporciones es casi nulo. A veces, y creo que le sucede a muchas personas, coloco rasgos propios en otros retratos. Esto porque tendemos a simplificar algunas cosas hacia lo que ya conocemos

No matter how hard I try, my self-portraits always have that defiant look. I have never believed that I am a defiant person, I generally avoid conflict and prefer to retire. Maybe I'm just because i'm looking myself.

No importa cuánto lo intente, mis autorretratos siempre tienen ese aspecto desafiante. Nunca he creído que soy una persona desafiante, generalmente evito conflictos y prefiero retirarme. Tal vez solo me estoy desafiando a mí misma.

Finally, in all of us there is that unknown, intangible and mysterious something. Only we ourselves can find out what it is. I can only do it through art.

Finalmente, en todos nosotros está ese algo desconocido, intangible y misterioso. Sólo nosotros mismos podemos averiguar qué es. Yo sólo puedo hacerlo a través del arte.

A few posts ago I talk about the color palette in the skin of people with dark skin like mine. I find beautiful and interesting this aspect of all the brown shades in our skin, but the presence of that beautiful pink tone in our lips. It's something that creates an interesting contrast. I love this.

Hace algunos posts les hablaba sobre la paleta de colores en las personas de pieles oscuras como la mía. Encuentro hermoso e interesante el hecho de que hay muchas tonalidades de marrones en nuestra piel, pero también este hermoso tono rosado en nuestros labios. Es algo que crea un contraste interesante, me encanta.

I rememeber being a child and haver this black hair that looked almost blue in pictures. I really like my darker tone not to be pure black.

Recuerdo cuando era una niña, tenía el cabello tan negro, que en las fotos se veía casi azul. Me gusta que el tono más oscuro no sea negro puro.
