MY FIRST MONOCHROME ARTWORK. DID IT TURN OUT WELL?

Hi Guys, so I worked on an artwork of a famous and world-class soccer player - Zlatan Ibrahimovic, plays for club AC Milan in Italy.
I've always been looking forward create a monochrome artwork, to try my coloring skills using different shades of one colour. I saw the original monochrome Image on his Instagram Page. I so loved the details and lighting, decided to try it out.

After reducing the opacity and setting my canvas size, I started with the Line Art

The Line Art took a few hours, because I use a very pointed brush although it takes more time to finish the Line Art, It also helps me get smaller details.
Next step I did was to set my base color - this is the main colour, I'd be using it to get darker and brighter shades of it.

Next was to apply the first dark shade to bring out the very obvious shades and skin fold on his face.

I added the second darker shade to highlight less visible facial details. Check it out below

Since some part of his face from the original image is quite darker than this - part with little or no light, I went two more dark shades below to highlight more details and added a lighter shade of the base color to sharpen it with contrast.

Taking note of the light touching Part of his face, I further added more lighting to his face to differentiate areas with more or less exposure to light.

The work is almost done. Next was to choose a suitable background and add some brush lighting to the darker part of his face. These are my finishing touches

Lastly, to brand my work and show it was done by me, I add my signature on it. Signing is always the last thing I do.

And I'm done! What do you guys think about this one?
