Quick Sketching: Trying a different medium !!!

Hello hivers I'm having mental block what art should I make in watercolor hahaha so I've tried a different medium. Honestly I'm not good at free hand sketching. As you can see on my previous paintings, I'm always using grids (square grids or diagonal grids) in doing portraits.

So now that I'm out of ideas, I tried Free hand sketching and here is the results :)

After watching several tutorials on youtube, I've come up to my first attempt. At first I really can't figure out if I'm doing right, I tried flipping out the picture (straightening it) to have a more equal measurement like what I've watched on yt. But after some time I figured out that I'm doing it wrong. And I didn't dare to finished it because I know I'm heading to a wrong way (but I still try to hatch it just for me to know what I should do on my second trial.

Heres my first attempt:

In the picture above you can see that because of my wrong approach, the subject changes :(( that's why I tried another one (of course I don't want surrender🤣)

After my first attempt, I tried watching a different vids on yt, looking for some that has a little comparison to my subject angle.

I've only captured few progress shots (I think thats an illness for me to always forgot it🤣 ) but here you go a few progress shots 😅
