Slay the Dragon 🐉

Artist Talent level - Rookie

This is my first entry into the CYOA- Artist Category in the Zealy campaign. I have tried my best to produce an intuitive art of a Lion slaying a dragon. As Lion is always a dominating character, I have put a fierce and roaring Lion and contemplated a flying dragon.

As the fight ensues between the Lion and the flying dragon, the dragon got entrapped into the powerful paws with unsheathed nails of the Lion. Even though Dragon is powerful, not as much as the Lion in this fight.

As the central theme of this art is Lion Slaying a Dragon, I have placed Lion above and dominating while the dragon is being dominated.

I started drawing the outline of the face of the Lion along with the outline of the hairs, and I also placed Lion in a stand-up posture, in a way that it is a spontaneous action mode to entrap the dragon.

Then I started outlining the contour of the body of the Lion with its tail flaunting up in the air.

I started shadowing the hind legs and also tried to give a thick shadow to the hairs around the neck and also to its beard.

The next is to draw a Dragon as I said earlier I have contemplated a flying dragon, so I started outlining the face of the dragon along with the two wings and then started tapering off its tail coiling up a bit because it is already entrapped under the powerful paws of the dominating Lion.

The next part is to make the dragon a bit darker and with a thicker body, and also the edges of the body have been kept thick to make the outline more prominent. The face part of the dragon is not fierce, I have contemplated a dragon who is docile and not with a sharp-edged thorn on its body.

After fine-tuning the art, here is the final outcome.

I tried my best to make it at least an OKAY type art, I am in the process of learning, and in this ongoing quest, I will try to improve as I proceed to the next task.
