Greetings to all Hivers!
I played in the Hivechess Season 1 last night. It was the 12th round of the weekly chess tournament which ran for over an hour with a time control of three minute blitz with an option to go on "berserk". Going berserk will give you half the time (1 minute and a half instead of 3) but will give you extra points if you win. Some of my games were bad, hanging the Queen like the Botez sisters or losing winning games where I was a piece up. It was not all downhill though as there were breathtaking, exciting games that left my hands shaking after the game was over.
Caro Kann against Tangible_ay
I played a game against previous winner Tangible_ay. He went berserk against me so rather than playing for a win, my strategy was to avoid losing on the spot. I exchanged pieces and used my time advantage to pressure him into blunder.
In the position below, he only had 4 seconds left while I had 41. He blundered with Be3 and after I exchanged Bishops, I took his pawns on the g and h files and won the game.

A Wild Game against jaki01
I was under tremendous pressure this game against jaki01 but somehow found some resources and mistakes by my opponent to win the game.
I moved 35. e5 threatening mate on h7. My opponents responded with 35. ...Bg7 to cover the seventh rank. 36. Qe4??? was a mistake, it's mate in one with 36. ...Qf2 but my opponent didn't see it and instead covered the diagonal with 36. ...Rf5.
The game continued 37. Re2 (defending against the check on f2) 37. ...h5 38. Rf7 h4 39. Rxf5 h3 40. Rh5+ and I won on time but it was already a mate in 2 after Nh6 Qh7#.

Playing chess is fun but let's not forget about physical activities. I recently committed to exercise and to keep me motivated, I joined actifit.io
How do I join the competition?
If you have a lichess.org account you can join. Contact the organizer (@sam.chess) so that you can be informed of the tournament link in the next round.
I see thank you
