6th Chess960 Hivechess Tournament

Hello everyone.
Finally it is time for May edition of Chess960 Hivechess Tournament. Whole May passed without our standard Friday chess meetings. This Saturday we are back with Chess960. Since we did not play more than a month prizes will be included for Top 10 players as well. Also standard top 3 places and biggest upset reward stays on the menu.

For last Saturday of the month and May edition of Chess960 we go with a bit more time and less increment.

Mode for Saturdays tournament is 4 + 1.

Tournament starts this Saturday at 21:00 CEST (19:00 GMT).
Mode 4 + 1.
70 minutes of chess.

Rewards

17 Hive Total in rewards. Biggest prize fund yet for Chess960 tournament.
As I mentioned above top 10 ranked players get 1 Hive each. This way more people have opportunity to get rewards.
First place 3 Hive, second place 2 Hive, third place 1 Hive.
1 Hive for biggest upset of the tournament.

Rules

In order to participate you need Lichess account and to be part of our Lichess team.
Hivechess team (password is "Hive")
And you have to play at least 3 games in tournament (biggest upset award eligibility).

Lichess Liga Team Battle

As I am writing thi post I saw notification. And guess what - more chess.
@stayoutoftherz just posted that Lichess Liga Team Battle starts this Sunday.
We already competed as a team in Lichess Liga.

Chess world and Norway Chess 2025

Norway Chess 2025 started at 26 May. Strong field with top 5 players participating. We have Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Fabiano Caruana, Arjun Erigaisi, current world champion Gukesh Dommaraju and Wei Yi. All top players for this years Norway Chess.
First classical game between Carlsen and Gukesh after he become world champion ended with Carlsen winning. There is more chess to be played as it will continue until June 6th. So more interesting chess to be played.
Tommorrow is rest day. After 4 match Carlsen is in lead with 8 points followed by Caruna with 7 points.

In women section we have current world champion Ju Wenjun, Lei Tingjie, Koneru Humpy, Anna Muzychuk, Vaishali Rameshbabu and Sara Khadem. Here are one of strongest players as well as 4 players are from top 6 of current standings.
Anna Muzychuk and Humpy Koneru share first place with 7 points each.
