Hivechess Tournament Round 6: @sawkito and @schamangerbert were the winners!

Dear Chess fans,

in the 6th round of Season 6 we were altogether 16 players, 10 in the >2000 one and only 6 in the 2000+ one (actually 7, but @elprofe62 had some connection problems and could not be counted). Did I mention the magic 16 treshold? Crazy that we never can pass this number. Maybe next time.

The 2000+ tournament had an average opponent rating of 2150 - record in Hivechess. @sawkito won it nevertheless as usual with quite a margin. Behind him were @yazp (zulukill) and @vjap55. On the 4th spot we could welcome a completely new Hivechess player, @burnoutawesome (burnoutawesomehive) - congrats to the Top 3 and the new one to his great performance in this super strong field!

The <2000 tournament was won by @schamangerbert (HerbyW), closely followed by @rafaelaquino (ajedrezclub2t) and @rodrook as third - Congratulations! Due to the rules all participants in this one could gain points. It looks like @rafaelaquino (ajedrezclub2t) had a much tougher pairing than the others.

Please let me know in the comments, if this split was fun and if you would like to see it more often. Due to the different number of players next time we would make the cutoff probably at 2100.

So cool ! If you ask me this new idea looks great and wise, it gives the opportunity to the players to ge more points and seems to be fair

As I promised I'll support you with 30 hives to the pool for this season. Thanks for made it happen again !

I make the payouts this weekend, @vjap55, did you send your contribution already? Just to ensure, that I have not missed it. If not, no worry, the next season is also an opportunity. If you are still interested, how you want to distribute, give it equally to all participants? Or just add it to the pool? Pls let me know.

Just saw it! Many thanks!! I will add it to the pool!

Wer aussagekräftige Turniere will, spielt Schweizer-System.

This is bit concerning. Hope Lichess changes to Winner gets matched first.

I spent a pleasant afternoon. I thought it was a good idea how you divided this tournament. Innovations are good and necessary (We should experiment). I will always be willing to participate. The important thing is that we play, make friends and promote chess on this platform. Thanks for taking your time and organizing everything. Greetings from Cumana, Venezuela!

I would rather see 1 tournament than 2 especially during long rounds like 4+2, maybe it is good idea to divide for bullets like 1+1, 2+1.
For people in Europe payout from Hive tournament is not the life changer anyway no matter if one wins the whole season or gets last place but plays every week, so one should not think too much about points and money, rather to have fun and learn. Situations is different for people in Venesuela - therefore I will divide my payout from taht season to them.

Congratulations to the winners. I apologize for not showing up at the regulation time to play in the tournament of less than two thousand, because I had problems with the internet connection (unfortunately here in Venezuela this is almost "normal").
Although I was able to participate, I really liked the new form of the tournament divided into two groups, because I consider it fairer.

Hopefully next time it is better!

Almost normal. It would be possible to make 2 general half-hours with a break, different time controls, and the points were calculated separately for each league.
Rounds are general, tables of results are separate

30 min only? Maybe as a bullet round. I will think about it.

30 + 30: 2 rounds in different types of chess, I would play 1 time in those that are longer30+30 по 2 тура в разные виды шахмат, я бы играл 1 раз в те, которые длинней
(and which are not 1 single out of 960))(и которые не 1 единственный из 960))

Well, a break would make the tournaments longer (more time consuming altogether).
I think if even old players like me can play a full hour without break, others should als be able to do that, haha. :) So I would prefer tournaments to stay without a break.

These are just my two cents, but of course you are free to experiment if you like.

Yes, 5min break max.
But 30min (unless bullet) allows only a few games and introduces even more imbalances with the pairings. Bullet gives stronger players even more advance.

Me gustaría participar.
