Interesting post. I think we have a very similar concept of freedom.
In my country Venezuela, citizen freedom has been declining for more or less 20 years, the personal economy of Venezuelans has been ruined due to bad presidential decisions, motivated by their ideological misinterpretation of socialism or communism, here called by the rulers "Socialism of the XXI century", which has caused an exodus like never before in Venezuela of almost 6 million Venezuelans to neighboring countries, North America and Europe.
But I have faith in Jesus Christ, that with obedience to his Word, prudence and wisdom we will learn the lesson and we will abandon that phrase that many still say "we are rich", alluding to the immense oil fields that exist under our subsoil. But we have left the true source of the wealth and prosperity of the individual and the nations which is "the fear of God."
