I went to a meeting for my solo exhibition. / 個展の打ち合わせに行ってきました (ENG/JPN)

First of all, today, July 4, I turned 55. I'm already in my mid-50s. I've been feeling my physical strength decline over the past few years, and lately, even when I try to write something here at Hive, there are days when I struggle to keep going with my pen (or rather, keyboard).

Additionally, the recent heat has been unbearable. The visiting nurse who comes once a week to check on me came yesterday and said, “I'm worried you might collapse at any moment,” showing concern for my frail condition. Hearing that, I think back to how I used to be able to go to the beach or mountains even in the heat. This summer, I'll probably spend most of my time cooped up in my air-conditioned home.

Today, despite the heat, I went to a hotel near JR Saga-Arashiyama Station for a meeting regarding my solo exhibition scheduled for November this year. The exhibition will be held in the gallery on the first floor of that hotel.

The staff member was bright and kind, and answered all the questions I had prepared in advance. Finally, we toured the gallery together to get a better sense of the space.

Despite the heat, there were plenty of tourists in Arashiyama. I’m looking forward to seeing even more in November.

まずはじめに。私は本日7月4日で55歳となりました。もう50代も半ばですよ。ここ数年体力の衰えを感じる私ですが、最近はここHiveに何か書こうとしても筆（というかキーボード）が続かず苦労している日もあります。

加えてここ数日の暑さには参りました。いつも週１回様子を見に来てくれる訪問看護師さんが昨日来たのですが、あなたはいつ倒れるかと思うと心配だわ、と、ひ弱な私を気遣うほどでした。そう言われると、昔は暑くても海や山へとよく遊びに行けたよなあと思うのです。この夏はほとんどエアコンの効いた家にこもって過ごすことになりそうです。

そして今日、暑い中今年の11月に開催する私の個展の打ち合わせのため、JR嵯峨嵐山の近くのホテルへ行きました。そのホテルの1Fのギャラリーに展示するのです。

担当者さんは明るく親切な方で、あらかじめ書き出した疑問点にみな答えていただきました。そして最後に一緒にギャラリーの見学をして、イメージを膨らませました。

暑いのに嵐山には観光客がいっぱいいました。11月だったらもっと多いだろうな、と楽しみになりました。
