Manga Mondays #2 Share Some Manga Recommendations

It's a new weekly series like AskAnime where I ask for Manga recommendations. I binge read a lot of manga so I tend to run out of titles on a weekly basis so it'd be great if you guys can give me some recommendations.

#mangamonday2:

Find me a romance comedy manga that hasn't had an anime adaptation at the time of this writing. Manga/manhwa/manhua is fine.

I'm more into finding gems before they get an anime adaptation.

NOTES FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK

I've already sent some tips to those that engaged with the post. I saw nobody made a separate post using the #mangamonday1 tag. Some of the commenters of the previous week are set to receive part of the beneficiary rewards from this post as part of the engagement incentives. We'll be adding more activities like these weekly for the community. If any of you guys want to host your contests on the Anime Realm community, let us know first.

Mechanics:

  1. Entry can either be a comment under this post or a separate post with a hashtag #mangamonday2. Please note the number "1" at the end of the hashtag is an indicator of the week number and it'll help me search for recent entries on the succeeding weeks. Making a separate post is preferred but settling for a comment is fine too.

  2. If you make a separate post about the recommendation, you don't need to specify that it's "Manga Monday Contest Entry 2" or something along those lines, just post it like any regular review post on the community. This isn't a formal contest as the criteria is just looking recommendations to read about.

  3. Reblogs or upvotes are appreciated but not necessary. Just comment the recommendation or make a post about the manga, that'd be fine.

  4. It doesn't necessarily have to be a manga, it can be a manhwa or manhua (search the difference between the three).

  5. If you already made a post about your recommendation, let's say a manga review posted months to years ago, drop it here as an entry.

  6. You can do multiple entries in the comments or post but bear in mind that if you shill me a bucket list of titles, I'd probably ignore it.

  7. Community mods will be curating the entries for engagement. This doesn't mean big votes, we could just be handing out Hive tips for those that engage more just as what we do on AskAnime weekly.

  8. Deadline for entries will be 12 AM Thursday of the week New York Time EDT. That will give you ample time to come up with a post should you prefer to do separate posting for an entry. If you're bothered with the time zones, you can just make a mental note that that age of this post doesn't get passed 2 days before you make an entry to play it safe.

We'll be incorporating this weekly event on our Monthly Anime Realm Quests in the future. But for now, this month, isn't included in the monthly tasks.

Is anyone reading
Legend of the northern blade 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
Manhwa so interesting it’s driving me nuts
The art, the drawing, the story like. Just too peak

I have some recommendations from manhwa/manhua that I've read before, and they are:

  • 1/24 Romance
  • First Night with the Duke
  • Man Drowning in a Veil
  • Uncle Cool
  • Match Made In Heaven by Chance
  • Siren's Lament
  • Oh Holy!
  • Winter Woods
  • Purple Hyacinth

I haven't really finished reading all of them because they are mostly ongoing ( except for Winter Woods, Siren's Lament, and Oh Holy! ). I can't really say Winter Woods is all about romcom, but it do have some romcom scenes. Also, Purple Hyacinth is kinda a slowburn one, but the romcom scenes of the mcs weren't the only one I'm anticipating in their updates. Honestly, in terms of romcom scenes, the side characters get much more compared to the mcs. Anyway, if you're really looking for a completely romcom genre, then Oh Holy is definitely a must try! (Same for the others that I have also mentioned).

I've never encountered all of these suggestions and it must be from my non-existent interest in romance genre (trying to explore more genres beyond the dark fantasy and comedy atm). Thanks, I'll check these out.

oh so you like dark fantasy... maybe you should really try Winter Woods ! Its artstyle was unsettling at first because the story started quite gloomy, but as it progresses, the comedy somehow lightened up the mood of the story.

For each time you edit your comment, I get a notification and recently it's enough to make me spend more time scrolling down my notifications window for a short comment.

I bookmarked the recommendation, I like the art style on first impression.

Sorry @adamada, I'm not aware that editing comments would cause multiple notifs... sorry for the bother tho...btw, I'll avoid doing that next time...

Does it have to be strictly manga? How about manhwa?

My Wife is a Demon Queen

I read this but only got halfway through the latest chapters. It was ok, but other stories were more entertaining. Manhwa / manhua is fine

I'm not much of a RomCom fan (except for BL --- gets kicked) but I've read some interesting Webtoon like Let's Play, Untouchable and Cheese in the Trap. You can check them if you want... 😎✨

This is my moment to recommend again I Love Yoo, is a manhwa that has everything, romance, comedy, drama, everything!

I also made a post about it a few months ago:

Plot definitely sounds like I'd skip over but then romance genre isn't my thing to begin with. It's nice to solicit some recommendations as I want to expand my "view" on more stories. Thanks for the recommendation.

Now the series they tell us are so much more special and interesting that I myself will try to start watching it soon.

How was the show you previously mentioned you wanted to watch?

I would like to help although I don't like the genre either haha. I've seen a few anime about it and it's good, but I don't know about non-animated manga that could be good. Regards

It's fine, there's a shortage of manga content on anime realm so adding some diversity just to get people interested.
