One of the most epic battles of Samurai X, is the confrontation of Kenshin against Makoto Shishio, so much so that the duel did not end with a clear winner due to the death of the latter incinerated. Many fans have speculated about it, and maybe you also have your own opinion.
The first thing I want to highlight before going into the abilities of the two, is the struggle of ideals. Kenshin, who had participated in the restoration, knew what it was like to try to change the world with his sword, and not succeed, while Makoto, true to his ideal of only the strongest survives, tried to usurp power and overthrow the government.
Kenshin, under his new way of life, where he stopped killing, focuses on protecting the weak, and confronts Shishio, in a unique combat, but loaded with interesting thoughts and opinions, although it had enough intensity when Soujiro, the full combat was the one mentioned here.

Now, speaking of skills and styles, I can't deny that Makoto was quite powerful, his Horadama technique really has a destructive power and his skills are unique, so much so that neither Aoshi, nor Saito managed to hurt him, in fact they were defeated categorically, of course, they came wounded from their fights.
And that point has been the turning point in the debate, because despite his condition, Makoto faced Kenshin in “advantage” so to speak, while Himura had already faced Soujiro and Aoshi, where he received important injuries.
I particularly think that the winner would have been Kenshin, because of the effectiveness of his technique. Makoto thanks to Soujiro's gift knew how to counter it, but he did not take into account a second devastating attack, which if not for Kenshin's blunt sword would have chopped him in two.

If the fight had ended there, I think it would have been fine, however, the author decided to give us a little more drama and leave the fight “interrupted” by Shishio's condition, which led to his death, but both were preparing their decisive attack, and the victory was for either side.
In the world of anime it is one of the most interesting unfinished battles, in fact when I saw it I was surprised and somewhat satisfied, however, today that I have been watching it with my children, I am convinced that I would have liked to see another ending, and not the death of Shishio because of his condition. And you, what do you think, for you who would have won? Or who do you consider to be the stronger of the two? Tell me in the comments.

I've heard a lot about this one but haven't given it a chance, maybe soon. Good post 🌸
What you say is true, but I think Kenshin was much stronger, since, despite Shishio being a very strong rival, his madness led him to lose control because he thought that the supposed strength generated by his wounds could finish Kenshin off, making them his lethal weapon without considering the consequences. So for me, Kenshin was stronger and smarter than Shishio, apart from the fact that I was in love with him, haha. Greetings, I really liked your post.🙏💋🌸
