One Piece 1132 - Comparison with manga and review (ENG-ESP)

We continue with the One Piece anime and with the saddest flashback of this manga/anime, which I estimate that the story of Kuma would end at the beginning of July, or maybe it will stretch a little longer, who knows, but what I do know is that Toei is doing an excellent job with the adaptation of these episodes, not only visually it is a marvel, with scenes and an outstanding artistic style, but also the work of interpretation of the characters by the actors who bring them to life is outstanding and makes the sad moments of the manga, which were already quite sad, even sadder in the adaptation. The episode 1132 of One Piece anime, adapts in its entirety the chapter 1098 of the manga, continuing with the established: 1 chapter of the manga = 1 episode of the anime. Taking into account that the anime adds certain extra scenes and lengthening of some of them, to make it a more enjoyable adaptation and that can reach the minutes established for each episode of the anime. In this episode we continue with the tragic life of Kuma, which for every good thing that comes into his life, 4 other bad things come, being this perhaps one or the most tragic character of the work.

The episode starts off showing us the Revolutionary Army being busier than ever, the flames of revolution have been spreading around the world and more and more of the inhabitants of the kingdoms are fighting against their tyrannical rulers, but The Revolutionary Army is not being given enough due to the large amount of requests they are having and also due to the amount of people they have been saving from the wars they have been fighting. It has been a couple of years since Ginny's kidnapping by the World Government and it is known that she has been kidnapped as one of the Celestial Dragons became obsessed with her and wanted her so he could marry her. Kuma, who only feels frustration at not being able to go and save her, occupies his frustration and anger by going to every request of every person in every country in order to get rid of his anger, even a little, through violence towards the tyrants. Obviously this is an attitude and action that worries everyone in the Revolutionary Army, as too much is being demanded physically and mentally.

During one of her many fights, we see that Ginny has been able to "escape" from her captors and is on a boat going to her country, but we see that her skin has something quite strange and physically she does not look good at all, besides that in her arms she has a baby, so we can already intuit everything she has lived during her time kidnapped. Ginny contacts the Revolutionary Army, but especially Kuma, who in her bad physical and mental state, is saying goodbye to him, since she used all her strength to get home. Ginny tells that when she got sick she was no longer useful for the Celestial Dragon that had sent her to kidnap her, therefore she has been released or better said, she was thrown away as if she was garbage, since this is a very common activity of the garbage of the Celestial Dragons. Kuma upon hearing such a situation and using his powers quickly goes to the kingdom where he was born, but when he arrives Ginny was already dead, being another of the tragedies that overwhelms this great character.

Ginny leaves with her daughter, Bonney, who before dying, Ginny asks Kuma to take care of her, thus giving birth to the character of Bonney, which has importance in the story and especially in Kuma's life. As the years go by, Bonney grows up and Kuma learns how to be a father. We see Ginny as a baby and later as a girl of about 3 years old. We see Kuma and Ginny's day to day life and we see that the father-daughter bond is growing more and more, in parallel to Kuma's fight against the world government, since despite having a daughter to take care of, he still has his duties with the Revolutionary Army. But Bonney is gradually developing in her skin the same disease that her mother had, a kind of "Jewels" that sprout from her skin, which reproduce by sunlight or moonlight. For this reason and wanting to focus on his now daughter's illness, Kuma decides to resign from the Revolutionary Army. Years go by and Bonney is now 5 years old, but as she is always confined to the church, she is bothered by other children who think she is a vampire.

Kuma meets with a doctor who tells him that Bonney's disease has no cure and that eventually, even if he is protecting her from any kind of natural light, she will still be affected by it. A disease that will gradually cover her skin with blue stones. And after a misunderstanding when Bonney was listening to the conversation between Kuma and the Doctor, he believes that his illness will end when he turns 10, but the opposite is true. And as if things in Kuma's life weren't already at their worst, the King who had previously been overthrown for being a vile and bad ruler returns to cause chaos again. This was quite an emotional episode and an excellent adaptation. As a curiosity, when chapter 1098 of the manga was published, Oda (creator of One Piece) could not finish detailing the drawings of the manga, that is why certain pages have some drawings with strokes without definition and although later with the release of the manga volume, this was corrected, I personally liked this drawing as it gives more rawness to Kuma's situation.

Continuamos con el anime de One Piece y con el flashback más triste de este manga/anime, el cual estimo que la historia de Kuma terminaría a inicios del mes de Julio, o quizás se estire un poco más, quien sabe, pero lo que si se es que Toei está haciendo un excelente trabajo con la adaptación de estos episodios, ya que no solo a nivel visual es una maravilla, con escenas y un estilo artístico sobresaliente, sino que también el trabajo de interpretación de los personajes de parte de los actores que les dan vida es algo sobresaliente y hace que los momentos tristes del manga que ya de por si eran bastante tristes, lo sean aún más en la adaptación. El episodio 1132 del anime de One Piece, adapta en su totalidad el capítulo 1098 del manga, continuando con lo establecido de: 1 capítulo del manga = a 1 episodio del anime. Teniendo en cuenta que el anime agrega ciertas escenas extras y alargamiento de algunas de ellas, para que sea una adaptación más amena y que pueda llegar a los minutos establecidos por cada episodio del anime. En este episodio continuamos con la vida trágica de Kuma, la cual por cada cosa buena que llega a su vida, otras 4 malas llegan, siendo este quizás uno o el personaje más trágico de la obra.

El episodio empieza mostrándonos al Ejército Revolucionario estando más ocupando que nunca, las llamas de la revolución se han estado expandido por el mundo y cada vez más los habitantes de los reinos están luchando contra sus tiranos gobernantes, pero El Ejército Revolucionario no se da abastos debido a la gran cantidad de solicitudes que están teniendo y también debido al montón de personas que han estado salvado de las guerras que han estado librando. Han pasado un par de años desde el secuestro de Ginny por parte del Gobierno Mundial y se sabe que ha sido secuestrada ya que uno de los Dragones Celestiales se obsesionó con ella y la quería para poder casarse con ella. Kuma, el cual tan solo siente frustración al no poder ir a salvarla, ocupa su frustración e ira yendo a cada solicitud de cada persona en cada país para poder librarse de su ira, aunque sea un poco, por medio de la violencia hacia los tiranos. Obviamente esta es una actitud y acción que preocupa a todos en el Ejército Revolucionario, ya que se está exigiendo demasiado física y mentalmente.

Durante unas de sus tantas luchas, vemos que Ginny ha podido “escapar” de sus captores y se encuentra en un barco yendo hacia su país, pero vemos que en su piel tiene algo bastante raro y físicamente no se ve para nada bien, además de que en sus brazos tiene un bebé, por lo que ya podemos intuir todo lo que ha vivido durante su tiempo secuestrada. Ginny contacta con el Ejército Revolucionario, pero especialmente con Kuma, la cual ante su mal estado físico y mental, se está despidiendo de él, ya que usó todas sus fuerzas para llegar a su hogar. Ginny cuenta que al enfermarse ya no era útil para el Dragon Celestial que la había mandado a secuestrar, por lo tanto ha sido dejada en libertad o mejor dicho, la botaron como si fuese basura, ya que esta es una actividad bastante común por parte de las basuras de los Dragones Celestiales. Kuma al escuchar tal situación y usando sus poderes va rápidamente hacia el reino donde nació, pero al llegar Ginny ya se encontraba muerta, siendo otras de las tragedias que abruma a este gran personaje.

Ginny deja consigo a su hija, Bonney, la cual antes de morir, Ginny le pide a Kuma que la cuide, dando así origen al personaje de Bonney, el cual tiene importancia en la historia y especialmente en la vida de Kuma. Pasan los años y Bonney va creciendo y Kuma va aprendiendo como ser un padre. Vemos a Ginny siendo una bebe y posteriormente una niña de aproximadamente 3 años. Vemos el día a día de Kuma y Ginny y vemos que el lazo padre-hija está creciendo cada vez más, en paralelo de la lucha de Kuma contra el gobierno mundial, ya que a pesar de tener una hija a quien cuidar, aún tiene sus deberes con el Ejército Revolucionario. Pero Bonney poco a poco está desarrollando en su piel la misma enfermedad que tuvo su madre, una especie de “Joyas” que brotan de su piel, las cuales se reproducen por medio de la luz del sol o de la luna. Por este motivo y al querer enfocarse en la enfermedad de su ahora hija, Kuma decide renunciar al Ejército Revolucionario. Pasan más los años y Bonney ahora tiene 5 años, pero al encontrarse siempre recluida en la iglesia es molestada por otros niños que piensan que es una vampiro.

Kuma se reúne con un doctor que le indica que la enfermedad de Bonney no tiene cura y que eventualmente aunque la esté protegiendo de cualquier tipo de luz natural, igualmente se verá afectada por ello. Una enfermedad que poco a poco va a ir cubriendo su piel con piedras azules. Y luego de un malentendido cuando Bonney se encontraba escuchando la conversación entre Kuma y el Doctor, cree que su enfermedad acabara cuando cumpla 10 años, pero en todo lo contrario. Y como si las cosas en la vida de Kuma no estuviesen de lo peor, vuelve el Rey que anteriormente había sido derrocado por ser un vil y mal gobernante a causar caos nuevamente. Este fue un episodio bastante emotivo y una excelente adaptación. Como curiosidad, cuando se publicó el capítulo 1098 del manga, Oda (creador de One Piece) no pudo terminar de detallar los dibujos del manga, es por eso que ciertas paginas cuentan con algunos dibujos con trazos sin definición y aunque posteriormente con la salida del tomo del manga, esto fue corregido, personalmente me gustó este dibujo ya que le da más crudeza a la situación de Kuma.
