Hablemos hoy acerca del manga, el cual es la base para muchas de nuestras series de anime favoritos.

El manga es una forma de arte visual (de hecho el cómic es el noveno arte y el manga es cómic) que ha cautivado a millones de personas en todo el mundo desde hace mucho tiempo.

Su historia se remonta a muchos siglos atrás. Desde sus inicios humildes hasta lo que conocemos hoy día como una industria global, ha ido evolucionando de una manera muy importante, reflejando los cambios culturales y tecnológicos tanto en Japón como en el resto del mundo.

Comencemos hablando de los *Orígenes del Manga. Estos se remontan al siglo XII, cuando comenzaron a aparecer los emaki. Estos eran rollos ilustrados que contaban historias tanto con imágenes como con texto. Posteriormente, el manga moderno comenzará a tener forma en el siglo XIX con la llegada de la imprenta y la influencia que tuvo occidente.

Uno de los primeros ejemplos de manga en la era moderna fue Shiji no Yukikai (Las Cuatro Estaciones), que fue publicado en 1814 por Katsushika Hokusai, autor de la famosa obra "La Gran Ola de Kanagawa". Seguro que en algún momento has visto esta obra.

Ahora, trasladémonos al Siglo XX, la Edad de Oro del Manga.

¿Y porqué lo llamamos así? Porque fue en este siglo cuando comenzaron a aparecer figuras claves que fueron moldeando la industria: comencemos recordando a Osamu Tezuka, también conocido como "el Padre del Manga" o "Dios del Manga". Su obra Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom) fue publicada en 1952. Esta no sólo popularizó el manga entre un público joven sino que estableció muchas de las convenciones narrativas y visuales que hasta el día de hoy se utilizan en la industria.

También en este siglo se diversificó el manga en varios géneros que van desde la acción y la aventura hasta el romance y la ciencia ficción. Series como Dragon Ball de Akira Toriyama o Doraemon de Fujiko F. Fujio se convirtieron en fenómenos culturales atrapando la imaginación de varias generaciones de lectores.

Y ¿en qué momento comenzó la globalización del Manga?

A partir de 1980, el manga comenzó a ganar popularidad fuera de Japón al iniciarse la traducción y distribución de obras como Akira, de Katsuhiro Otomo o Sailor Moon de Naoko Takeuchi. Estas primeras obras introdujeron al manga a una audiencia general lo cual, no sólo expandió la base de fans del manga, sino que también tuvo influencia en otros medios como el anime, los videojuegos y el cine.

Pero el fenómeno del manga no se quedó allí. Al llegar La Era Digital, el Manga experimentó una gran transformación. Las editoriales tradicionales de manga impreso comenzaron a expandirse en el mundo digital. La aparición de plataformas digitales como Shonen Jump+ y Kodansha´s Magazine Pocket hicieron que el manga fuera aún más accesible. Las redes sociales permitían crear comunidades en línea por lo que los fans podían conectarse y compartir el amor por el manga de maneras nuevas y emocionantes.

También la era digital permitió el surgimiento de nuevos talentos y estilos. Muchos mangaka independientes ganaron popularidad y ofrecieron una amplia variedad de estilos artísticos y narrativas que comenzaron a desafiar las convenciones tradicionales. Plataformas como Pixiv y Webtoons se convirtieron en sitios donde los nuevos talentos podían mostrar su trabajo y conectar con una audiencia global.

Y ¿Cuál es el futuro del Manga?Pues con las nuevas tecnologías como la realidad aumentada, el manga tiene un terreno amplio en el cual seguir creciendo y expandiéndose ante las nuevas posibilidades de interacción con los lectores y los cambios en la narrativa que se requieren para este ajuste. El manga sigue teniendo una amplia aceptación en la cultura global por lo que podemos decir que su crecimiento continuará.

Manga is a form of visual art (in fact, comics are considered the ninth art, and manga is a type of comic) that has captivated millions of people worldwide for a long time.

Its history dates back many centuries. From its humble beginnings to what we know today as a global industry, it has evolved significantly, reflecting cultural and technological changes both in Japan and around the world.

Let's start by talking about The Origins of Manga. These date back to the 12th century when emaki began to appear. These were illustrated scrolls that told stories through both images and text. Later, modern manga would begin to take shape in the 19th century with the advent of the printing press and Western influence.

One of the earliest examples of manga in the modern era was Shiji no Yukikai (The Four Seasons), published in 1814 by Katsushika Hokusai, the author of the famous work "The Great Wave of Kanagawa." I'm sure you've seen this work at some point.

Now, let's move on to The 20th Century, the Golden Age of Manga.

Why do we call it that? Because it was during this century that key figures began to shape the industry. Manga continues to have wide acceptance in global culture, so we can say that its growth will continue.
