Buenos días, buenas tardes o buenas noches, damas y caballeros. ¿Cómo están? ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Espero que muy bien. Yo particularmente me encuentro bien, ya prácticamente comencé la universidad, así que tocó darlo todo para pasar ese semestre, aunque la modalidad de estudio es bastante rara, si te soy sincero, pero no te vengo a hablar de eso.
Te vengo a hablar de un anime que posiblemente conozcas porque se ha hablado bastante de él en redes. Cuando salió, vi que en Twitter había bastante alboroto por lo bueno y cruel que era. No puedo decir que desconocía la obra porque sería una mentira; ya la había visto antes, pero no sabía de qué trataba exactamente. Obviamente, me refiero al formato manga; en las tiendas donde veo qué hay de nuevo, siempre estaba presente, aunque nunca entendí muy bien de qué trataba hasta ahora.
Tengo entendido que esto más bien va a ser un formato especial, y por eso la tremenda calidad de los capítulos, además de que son de larga duración. El primer capítulo por sí solo son 37 minutos; en total, creo que van a ser 6, según MyAnimeList. Y es que tampoco pueden pedir más capítulos; el manga creo que son 5 tomos nada más.
Solo te tengo que decir que estoy leyendo esto con el corazón destrozado en mil pedazos. No me esperaba algo tan crudo, y no veía tal vil engaño con el opening desde hace tiempo. Para el que viene sin saber nada, lo agarran de sorpresa sin dudar. Así que, sin más dilación, hablemos un poco acerca de Takopi no Genzai.
Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening, ladies and gentlemen. How are you? How are you feeling today? I hope you’re doing well. Personally, I’m alright—I’ve practically started university now, so it’s time to give it my all to get through this semester, though the study format is quite strange, to be honest. But I’m not here to talk about that.
I’m here to talk about an anime you might know, since it’s been discussed a lot on social media. When it came out, I saw quite a stir on Twitter about how brilliant yet brutal it was. I can’t say I was unaware of the work—that’d be a lie—as I’d seen it before, but I didn’t know exactly what it was about. Obviously, I’m referring to the manga format; in the shops where I check for new releases, it was always there, though I never fully understood its premise until now.
From what I gather, this is more of a special format, which explains the incredible quality of the episodes, not to mention their longer runtime. The first episode alone is 37 minutes long, and in total, I believe there will be 6 episodes (according to MyAnimeList). And really, they can’t ask for more—the manga itself is only 5 volumes, I think.
All I can say is, I’m reading this with my heart shattered into a thousand pieces. I wasn’t expecting something so raw, and I haven’t seen such a vicious deception in an opening sequence in a long time. For anyone going in blind, it catches you off guard without hesitation. So without further delay, let’s talk a bit about Takopi’s Original Sin.

El anime tiene dos perspectivas, pero consideraría al protagonista a Takopi, un alienígena con forma muy similar a un pulpo que proviene del Planeta Feliz. Su misión es muy clara y muy sencilla: ir a otros planetas a esparcir la felicidad. Para hacer esto, tendrá en su poder una gran cantidad de artefactos felices con diversas funciones.
Tras sobrevivir a ser cazado por otros humanos y a que protección animal no se lo llevara, es encontrado por una humana llamada Shizuka, debido a que Takopi aterrizó en un planeta verde y azul, llamado la Tierra. Takopi entablará una relación con Shizuka debido a que este le toma cariño por su forma de ser, además de que cada vez que sale de la escuela lo alimenta.
Aunque para el espectador es bastante claro que Shizuka sufre de acoso escolar por las cosas que le cuenta a Takopi o por la apariencia que tiene, donde se ven golpes, para Takopi, que proviene de un mundo donde todo es felicidad, no le queda bastante claro lo que es el acoso escolar.
Shizuka le cuenta a Takopi que lo que la hace más feliz en el mundo es su perro, y el día que le llegase a pasar algo, no tendría razón para seguir viviendo. Al día siguiente de eso, transcurre lo peor, donde podemos ver a Shizuka llena de moretones y golpes, llevando en su mano el collar de su perro. Takopi solo piensa que se peleó con su amiga, por lo que le dará un lazo de reconciliación (se extiende infinitamente) para que haga las paces con ella, aunque antes le habían advertido que nunca debería dejar que los artefactos fuesen usados por sí solos sin su supervisión.
Obviamente, cuando Shizuka nunca vuelve, Takopi se preocupará e irá a su casa, encontrándose con lo peor. Takopi deseará saber a qué se debe tal acción y, como quiere que Shizuka sea feliz, volverá en el tiempo con uno de sus artefactos para evitar su muerte. Allí descubrirá que no todo es tan sencillo como usar unos artefactos para que alguien sea feliz.
The anime has two perspectives, but I would consider the protagonist to be Takopi, an alien with an octopus-like appearance who comes from the Planet of Happiness. His mission is very clear and simple: to travel to other planets and spread happiness. To accomplish this, he possesses an array of cheerful devices with various functions.
After surviving being hunted by humans and escaping animal control, he's found by a girl named Shizuka, since Takopi landed on a blue and green planet called Earth. Takopi forms a bond with Shizuka, growing fond of her personality, and also because she feeds him every day after school.
While it's quite obvious to viewers that Shizuka suffers from bullying - evident from what she tells Takopi and the bruises visible on her - Takopi, coming from a world where everything is happiness, doesn't quite understand what bullying means.
Shizuka confides in Takopi that her dog is what makes her happiest in the world, and that if anything were to happen to it, she'd have no reason to keep living. The next day, the worst occurs - we see Shizuka covered in bruises, clutching her dog's collar in her hand. Takopi mistakenly thinks she's had a fight with a friend, so he gives her a reconciliation ribbon (which extends infinitely) to make amends, despite having been warned never to let the devices be used unsupervised.
When Shizuka fails to return, Takopi becomes worried and goes to her house, where he discovers the worst. Determined to understand why this happened and wanting Shizuka to be happy, he uses one of his devices to travel back in time to prevent her death. There he learns that making someone happy isn't as simple as just using magical devices.

El principio del anime puede ser bastante engañoso, presentándonos imágenes bonitas y a Takopi que se ve bastante lindo, además de un opening donde todo parece ser felicidad, pero el verdadero trasfondo del anime sale a la luz cuando vemos la actitud de Shizuka y el evidente maltrato que sufre. Takopi no es capaz de reconocer eso, es demasiado inocente para darse cuenta de algo y además desconoce la raza humana, ya que viene de otro planeta; sus costumbres son muy diferentes a las nuestras.
Conforme vas viendo y va avanzando la trama, poco a poco te irá pesando el corazón. Sabes que lo que estás viendo no está bien y que tarde o temprano va a ocurrir lo peor. Takopi desconoce lo que es el maltrato; piensa que todos son amigos, hasta que él mismo experimenta lo que es ser maltratado.
Ahora también sale la pregunta: ¿somos malos por naturaleza o solo copiamos las actitudes de quienes nos crían? ¿El abusado en su hogar, para sentirse bien, debe de echarle la culpa a otro y terminar también abusándole? Son preguntas que se me vienen en la mente viendo el comportamiento de los demás personajes y su forma de ser, de tratar a los demás. No estamos ante algo sencillo de entender; alguien no es malo porque sí, tiene sus razones, pero eso no justifica tampoco sus malos actos.
Ahora me pregunto cómo un ser de luz como Takopi podrá lidiar o acabar con una situación así, algo tan complicado tanto psicológicamente como sociológicamente. El anime se ve que va a ser bastante duro de ver, porque de verdad pega fuerte los temas que están tratando, por lo que si eres sensible a problemáticas como el bullying o el suicidio, deberías de tomar tus precauciones.
The beginning of the anime can be quite deceptive, showing us pretty images and Takopi who looks rather cute, along with an opening sequence where everything appears happy. But the true nature of the story reveals itself when we observe Shizuka's behaviour and the clear abuse she suffers. Takopi can't recognise this - he's too innocent to notice anything, and moreover doesn't understand humanity as he comes from another planet; his customs are very different from ours.
As you keep watching and the plot progresses, your heart will grow heavier little by little. You know what you're seeing isn't right, and that sooner or later, the worst will happen. Takopi doesn't understand what abuse is; he thinks everyone is friends - until he himself experiences what it means to be mistreated.
This raises difficult questions: Are we evil by nature, or do we simply copy the attitudes of those who raise us? Must someone abused at home blame others and ultimately become an abuser themselves to feel better? These are questions that come to mind when observing the other characters' behaviour and how they treat people. We're not dealing with something simple to understand - nobody is evil without reason, but neither does this justify their harmful actions.
Now I wonder how a pure being like Takopi could possibly handle or resolve such a situation - something so complex both psychologically and sociologically. This anime looks set to be quite hard to watch, as the themes it tackles really hit hard. So if you're sensitive to issues like bullying or suicide, you should take proper precautions.

En conclusión, estamos ante un anime que promete muchísimo, contando con una excelente producción, dirección y animación, además de una historia tétrica y quizás hasta traumática para algunos. El diseño de los personajes es bastante curioso, de lo más llamativo; podría decir que me gusta bastante.
Y creo que, sin dudas, la mejor parte de este primer episodio es la escena final. Lo tan bien hecha que está es para tener miedo por la situación que te están presentando. Además, vemos que hay cierto trasfondo no tan difícil de entender, pero supongo que irán desarrollando poco a poco más los personajes.
Es increíble que aún tenga pesar en mi corazón a una hora de haber visto el capítulo. Sinceramente, estoy destrozado. Pega fuerte porque es una situación que ocurre en la realidad; no estamos ante pura ficción, estamos hablando del suicidio, uno de los actos más dolorosos.
Técnicamente, este post será unas primeras impresiones, y no pienso escribir más al respecto de esto. No me veo capaz en un futuro de analizar más capítulos. ¿Te recomendaría esto? La verdad, creo que estamos hablando del «depende» más grande que existe. Si te interesan las problemáticas con las que se interesa lidiar, deberías de echarle un ojo.
Por lo que, sin más nada que decirles, me despido por el día de hoy, queridos lectores. Me voy con el corazón destrozado.
In conclusion, we're faced with an anime that shows tremendous promise, boasting excellent production, direction and animation, along with a macabre story that might even prove traumatic for some. The character designs are quite peculiar - remarkably striking, I'd say - and I find them rather appealing.
Without a doubt, I believe the best part of this first episode is the final scene. It's so masterfully executed that it genuinely makes you fearful of the situation being portrayed. There's also a certain underlying depth to it - not overly complex to grasp, but I assume they'll develop the characters further as it progresses.
It's astonishing how, even an hour after watching the episode, my heart still feels heavy. Honestly, I'm devastated. It hits hard because this reflects real-world situations - we're not dealing with pure fiction here, but with suicide, one of the most painful acts imaginable.
Technically, this post serves as first impressions, and I don't intend to write more about it. I simply don't feel capable of analysing future episodes. Would I recommend it? Truthfully, this might be the biggest "it depends" case imaginable. If you're interested in the issues it attempts to address, you might want to give it a look.
