First post, Some Aliens from my Sketchbook

spaceship landing.jpg

Hey! I'm an artist from a small beachside town in New Zealand. I work mostly with pen and ink, never planning anything out or using pencil. Whatever happens shall happen. I thought it would be appropriate for my first ever post in this community to be a scan of this Alien related drawing. These guys were obviously very keen to land their spaceship on the pages of my sketchbook. It was a very pure transmission and I had fun capturing it.

This is really cool, welcome to the community and feel free to ask any questions! I look forward to seeing more of your art :) One recommendation I have is to make a post in Alien Art Hive and give us a bit of a background about yourself and your art, use the tag introduceyourself, lots of people check it to find new bloggers to say hello

Thank you for the lovely welcome and helpful suggestion, I’ll be sure to make one of those posts soon :)

This technique is quite complicated, although if applied well it really does yield some great art. And that's very attractive.
Congratulations on the great art.

Thank you thankyou thankyou. The end result is pretty complicated but when you're only focusing on one line at a time it's actually kinda simple. Interesting that so much complexity can grow out of a bunch of basic forms and shapes
