It’s my first time trying to draw an Alien and also my first post in this community.

I was inspired by Avatar characters, but I didn’t want to make a copy of it. I definitely wanted my character be blue color, and a bit resemblance with cat. I’m not sure if the cat part is there, because I changed my mind about adding cat ears.

Process

So I started with a general outline of my character and after that I added a tree.

Next was a colorful background of yellow and blue.

Now some details on the tree texture. I used Monoline brush.

It’s time for her cute eyes, and some shading on the body. For the shading I used one of the Industrial brushes.

More shading on the hat looking part of her head (yes,it’s an attached hat, why not:-). Some details on the tree using bright magenta color, and the leaves.

Here is a closer fragment of my Ms.Alien.

The final result.

You can see I added a casting shadow, to separate her from the background so it doesn’t look too flat.

Well I’m excited and happy with my very first attempt of drawing an Alien. I think she turned out super cute. I named her Melinda, and she is super kind and helpful character.
