The dragons that lived only in my dreams | Children's book illustrations

Hello Bloggers again another day, I hope you are very well, today I bring you an illustration a little different style for children, there are a few days left to enter the university and I am taking advantage of practicing to the maximum before that happens because I know I will not have as much time as I have being at home every day XD, so this time I wanted to make a mythological creature within the children's illustration, this time I illustrated a dragon and at the same time I also wanted to practice some perspective in the composition, I tell you how it was to do it.

Hola Bloggers nuevamente otro día mas, espero estén muy bien , hoy les traigo una ilustración un poco diferente de estilo para niños, ya faltan pocos días para entrar a la universidad y estoy aprovechando de practicar al máximo antes que eso pase porque se que no tendré tanto tiempo como lo tengo estando en casa todos los días XD, así que esta vez he querido hacer una criatura mitológica dentro de la ilustración infantil, esta vez he ilustrado a un dragón y al mismo tiempo también he querido practicar algo de perspectiva en la composición, te cuento como fue hacerlo.

The idea for this drawing came to me from a cartoon I used to watch as a child called <>, I remember I always watched it before going to school and had breakfast watching that and many other cartoons, I always remember being fascinated by those dragon drawings and I thought it would be nice now that I am dedicated to drawing, to illustrate my own dragons for children. This time I have spent a long time sketching while looking at dragon creations and also looking at the shapes that the illustrators of that cartoon created the dragons, I wasn't going to draw them the same obviously but I wanted to see how their structure was so I could take it to my style.

La idea para este dibujo vino a mi de una caricatura que veía de niño que se llama <>, recuerdo que siempre la veía antes de irme al colegio y desayunaba viendo esa y muchas otras caricaturas mas, recuerdo siempre fascinarme por esos dibujos de dragones y pensé que seria lindo ahora que me dedico a dibujar, ilustrar mis propios dragones infantiles. Esta vez he pasado haciendo el boceto un buen rato mientras miraba creaciones de dragones y también mirando las formas que crearon los dragones los ilustradores de esa caricatura , no los iba dibujar igual obviamente pero si quería ver como era su estructura para eso llevarlo a mi estilo.

The most difficult thing about this sketch was to work with a form that I didn't know; in this case the dragon and because I wanted to work with a perspective, I want to give a much more fun dynamism to my illustrations and so they look much more worked and not so flat, I still have a lot to practice but I thought it was a good start to draw this scene with landscape depth.

Lo mas difícil de este boceto fue trabajar con una forma que desconocía; en este caso el dragón y porque quise trabajar una perspectiva, quiero darle un dinamismo mucho mas divertido a mis ilustraciones y así se vean mucho mas trabajadas y no tan planas, aun me falta mucho por practicar pero me pareció un buen comienzo dibujar esta escena con profundidad de paisaje.

For the color palette I have used a lot of primary colors and I have lowered the opacity a little, also the brown tones I have given a reddish shade to not darken so much the parts of the drawing, I feel that placing pure brown the illustrations look a little dirty and I have found alternative tones to illustrate a specific color, in this case the brown is better to give them certain shades along with other tones but that it takes a harmony with all the color palette that has in the environment, everything will look more harmonious.

Para la paleta de color he utilizado mucho los colores primarios y le he bajado un poco la opacidad, también los tonos marrones le he dado un matiz rojizo para no oscurecer tanto las partes del dibujo, siento que colocando marrón puro las ilustraciones se ven un poco sucias y he encontrado tonos alternativos para ilustrar un color en especifico, en este caso el marrón es mejor darles ciertos matices junto con otros tonos pero que lleve una armonía con toda la paleta de color que tiene en el entorno, todo se vera mas armónico.

I'm still working on the objects of nature and in general all the objects that I incorporate in my illustrations and make them look in my style, with something of frames but at the same time to see it people and especially children can feel that they are really seeing what I want to convey, for example in this case the clouds wanted to have a very soft and delicate shade but at the same time give the illusion that the clouds contain water, so what I did for it was to give nuances with light blue and some points in light blue also.

Aun sigo trabajando también en en los objetos de la naturaleza y en general todos los objetos que incorporo en mis ilustraciones y hacerlos ver en mi estilo, con algo de tramas pero que al mismo tiempo al verla las personas y sobre todo los niños puedan sentir que realmente están viendo lo que quiero transmitir, por ejemplo en este caso las nubes quería que tuviesen una sombra muy suave y delicada pero que al mismo tiempo diera la ilusión que las nubes contienen agua , así que lo que hice para ello fue darle matices con celeste y algunos puntos en celeste mas claro también .

Espero les haya gustado mucho esta ilustraciones y me cuenten que tal les pareció ;), yo mientras tanto me retiro a seguir practicando y disfrutando mis últimos días libres donde puedo pasar dibujando todo el día Xd, porque ahora solo voy a poder dibujar por algunos ratos, o al menos esa es la sensación que tengo . hasta la próxima.
