El Gato Demente fue un personaje que creé allá por el 2009, de hecho, fue el primer diseño que hice de un personaje de caricatura. El concepto es el de un gato que deambula borracho, con un revólver en la mano y que te mira de manera sórdida. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una recreación del dibujo, en formato digital, que hice a partir del boceto de este personaje. Luego, les comento un poco sobre el proceso.

The Mad Cat was a character that I created around 2009, in fact, it was the first design I made of a cartoon character. The concept is that of a cat that wanders around drunk, with a revolver in his hand and who looks at you in a sordid way. Today I want to share with you a recreation of the drawing, in digital format, that I made from the sketch of this character. Then, I tell you a little about the process.

Proceso
El primer paso es hacer la capa de líneas del personaje. Es importante realizar las líneas de contorno en una capa separada, para que pueda trabajar cómodamente en esta etapa y corregir más tarde si es necesario. Lo desarrollé tomando como referencia el boceto del Gato Demente que les mostré anteriormente.
Process
The first step is to make the lines layer of the character. It is important to make the contour lines on a separate layer, so that you can work comfortably at this stage and correct later if necessary. I did it using as a reference the sketch of the Mad Cat that I showed you earlier.
Debajo de la capa de líneas, cree una capa para los colores. Decidí usar un color naranja para el pelaje del gato, inspirado en esa caricatura llamada CatDog (¿lo recuerdan?). En las siguientes imágenes pueden ver como le fui añadiendo colores a este gato loco.
Below the lines layer, create a layer for the colors. I decided to use an orange color for the cat's fur, inspired by that cartoon called CatDog (remember it?). In the following images you can see how I was adding colors to this crazy cat.
Finalmente, en una capa encima de las demás, añadí las sombras y algunas luces. Básicamente este es todo mi proceso.
Finally, on a layer above the others, I added the shadows and some highlights. Basically this is my whole process.
