I created this image when I was feeling a little homesick the other night. Sometimes I just want the familiarity of where I have catalogued the bulk of my life. Space seemed like the perfect venue to convey the loneliness of being far from home.
I then generated two manipulations of the picture. The first in a comic book style and the second as an oil painting with long strokes. The poem came about as a result of working with the pictures. I tried to convey the message of the pictures with the words. Though short, I think it adequately does just that.
forging new paths for the future
to old places not yet discovered.
Flowing through time
floating through spaces
the way behind fading in the advance.
No matter how far he migrates
his heart will always long for home,
sacrificed in the cause of the journey.

LOve the final image and the poem. THe lone traveller - it's so exquisitely sad, really - always striving and moving but never rooted and 'home'.
