For this week, I chose Pirate of Eight!
Art Process
I wanted to try a new body type for a girl character and so I searched for a reference built in Pinterest. I wanted the character to be bulkier compared to the average type. I then found a reference pose with a man's body, so I thought it was perfect for my vision. I used a solid pencil texture brush for the lineart.
Filling the spaces with the base color. I chose a less satruated color palette and then clipped a layer for the shadows. The eyes were simple so it was easy to make.
Here I intensified more of the shadows by using a soft brush and then layered them with a glow.
Final Art
On the final touches, I used a dark purple gradient background to match the character's palette. I then put more glow to the character by using a glow brush. Lastly, masking the canvas with a texture.
Finished art! ✨
