The Treasure Hunter - my latest collage artwork minted as NFT on Hive blockchain

Today, on the summer solstice of December 2023, I wish to present to you my latest nft artwork. This one is titled "the treasure hunter" and I have minted 13 editions at the nft Showroom on the Hive blockchain.

This is another in my familiar style of cut-and-paste collage art, where I find old magazine pictures and cut them out with scissors. Then I add the individual pictures together to create a new composition of my own.

Somedays it takes a week or so to finish one picture as I slowly build it up day by day. In my earlier years I could complete one picture in a day. Now, however, I prefer to take more time about it and work when I am particularly inspired to.

The are other things that preoccupy me and my time on a daily basis. If you look at the central figure in this portrait you can see and image from a famous painting by one of the Masters of Renaissance fine art. However, here is this collage he is seen depicted with a backdrop of an extra-terrestrial planet. And from that planet we see a crater where fountains or waterfalls of gold are pouring down into the foreground to the one side of the picture.

Numerous gems also lie scattered around beside the gold jewelry. This is a familiar theme in many of my collages over the years. I like to depict the idea of riches, treasure, wealth and opulence. Perhaps it is due to my preoccupation with trading cryptocurrency, as is also seen in the portrait here today.

The scene alludes to a person who is studying charts, just like a crypto trader may study charts. The person in the center of the picture also holds a medallion which hangs on a gold chain from around his neck. It's a Bitcoin.

In this way the image is of my future self, if not to perhaps my current self. Here I show the image of hard work and chart reading eventually paying off, in the ability to tap into the flow of riches, wealth and treasure available in the cryptocurrency sector.

Besides the images of wealth and opulence, many of my other collage nfts also depict extra-terrestrial or space scenes. The combination of a fantasy world, made up by archaic characters set in a space environment, all then also accompanied by cryptocurrency imagery, are an element seen throughout most of my collage artworks over the years.

This is because for the past 6 years I've been focusing on the cryptocurrency industry, which includes trading and investment, as well as NFT art production. This collage which is being minted as an NFT, is the combination of both those sectors.

Normally I would take the A4 size paper collage to get scanned so that I can upload it onto my laptop, but at present my life has become streamlined.

Consequently, I am now able to take a photo of the collage using my mobile phone and then edit that photo on the phone as well as adding text to complete the picture. I then upload this photo from my phone to the nft Showroom, minting it on Hive blockchain.

I still have the original collage. Actually I have most of my original paper collage artworks, some of which I have framed and are hanging on the walls in my own home.

This is the second in the current December solstice 2023 presentation which is happening right now on the 21st December as I write this.

I have one more paper collage which I have yet to mint as nft, so stay tuned for the next drop coming later this week.

In this series each of the three collages are minted as 13 editions each into nft format. This is to allow more sharing and I've reduced the price to a minimal 3 Hive tokens each. This is all part of the current #hiveartshare which is underway during this festive sharing time of the year.

Also currently Mercury retrograde is 3 degrees away from its exact conjunction with the sun in a few days from today. So it's considered combust.

Cool buddy, let me know which ones you like.

The treasure hunter if you add some Tartaria elements :)
